Job description

Student EstimatorOur internships and Co-ops are designed to provide you with a business relevant project that will allow you to independently manage your own area of responsibility, while receiving support from an assigned Supervisor and Technical Mentor. We'll help you discover your strengths and development areas in a challenging, fun, and supportive work environment.
We are seeking a student to join us for a 4 or 8 month co-op position starting in September 2026. This position will be based out of Edmonton, AlbertaWhat You Will Be Working On
What You'll Be Working On
  • Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to gain an understanding of project scope and requirements.
  • Conduct take-offs from project drawings and develop material and labor quantity estimates.
  • Utilize estimating software and tools to prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, subcontractor quotes, and other project costs.
  • Assist in the preparation of bid proposals, including organizing and compiling all relevant estimating information.
  • Collaborate with senior estimators and project managers to review and analyze bids and proposals for accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating cost databases, historical data, and estimating resources to ensure accuracy and consistency in estimating practices.
  • Support the estimating team in tracking and reporting on project bids, opportunities, and market trends.
  • Participate in departmental and project meetings to provide input and support on estimating-related matters.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, construction technologies, and best practices in estimating.
