Job description

Montefiore-Einstein is nationally recognized for clinical excellence—breaking new ground in research, training the next generation of healthcare leaders, and delivering science-driven, patient-centered care. We are one of the largest health systems of 15 hospitals and a few dozen clinical sub-specialty clinics in the New York City metropolitan areas that serve a large and diverse patient population. The available patient data offer exciting opportunities to conduct clinical research to improve health in minority and under-severed populations.

Montefiore-Einstein has an annual NIH grant funding of $245M and is home of many Centers of Excellence, including 8 NIH-designated research centers.  Montefiore-Einstein Radiology has over 75 FTE radiologists and a large array of imaging facilities across 3 acute care hospitals, a dedicated children’s hospital as well as multiple satellite clinics across the metropolitan areas, conducive to clinical research. We have competitive data science, IT, and computing resources to execute various research projects. The Gruss Magnetic Resonance Research Center (Radiology) has 10 imaging research faculty and an array of research-dedicated human and animal imaging scanners. The Research Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring institutional and investigator compliance with institutional policies and procedures as well as federal and state law and regulations. The position will also participation in academic initiatives and activities within the division.

  • Work with PI to develop study protocols and protocol amendments for the IRB as needed, including the development of new measures.
  • Manage data collection, analysis and cleaning, performing regular audits to ensure that the data collected are complete and accurate, and that the research is being conducted as outlined in the protocol.
  • Develop appropriate progress reports for the PI, study funding agency and the IRB.
  • Assist PI with preparation of grant proposals (new and competing renewals). Assist the faculty in gathering the required documents and data needed to prepare grant applications. Secure related supporting letters and attachments required for grants and contracts. Confirm that the appropriate resources are available, which are needed by the PI.
  • Arrange meetings of study partners, develop meeting agendas, and facilitate meeting
  • Facilitate the preparation of conference abstracts, oral presentations, and poster presentations, and participate in the development of manuscripts for publication.
  • Partner with departmental IT resources in the development of databases; data coding manuals and data entry guidelines. Train staff and interns to collect and enter data appropriately.
  • Perform/Manage the collection of data from importable and exportable formats for rapid dissemination to PIs and sponsors.
  • Ensure that adverse events and protocol deviations are submitted to the IRB.
  • Oversee the process by which participants are recruited into the study;
  • Implement/Conduct quality improvement/control project/procedures;.
  • Work with Departmental Administrator to monitor project budgets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's Degree  is required with 3+ years of relevant experience; Master's Degree in Public Health or related field is preferred.  Strong computer skills, including MS Excel, Access are preferred.
