Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Cloud Platform & Enablement/Cloud Engineer Intern will support the team across day-to-day cloud operations, governance, and service support activities in our hybrid, multi-cloud environment spanning Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and on-premises infrastructure. This is a paid internship position based in our office, offering hands-on exposure to enterprise cloud technologies alongside experienced cloud engineers and architects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Respond to and triage service tickets submitted to the Cloud Platform & Enablement team, routing requests appropriately and escalating issues to senior engineers as needed.

  • Assist with cloud resource inventory audits across Azure and GCP environments, identifying unused, misconfigured, or untagged resources and documenting findings for remediation.

  • Support user access control reviews by auditing IAM roles, group memberships, and permissions across cloud platforms to ensure least-privilege principles are maintained.

  • Perform cloud environment clean-up tasks including decommissioning orphaned resources, enforcing tagging standards, and assisting with cost hygiene activities.

  • Assist in executing routine platform operations such as monitoring checks, patch validation, and backup verification following documented runbooks.

  • Document procedures, audit findings, and ticket resolutions to support team knowledge sharing and operational readiness.

  • Participate in team meetings, stand-ups, and collaborative working sessions to understand ongoing projects and contribute to team goals.

Major Projects:
  • Cloud Resource Inventory Audit & Clean-Up: Conduct a comprehensive inventory audit across Azure and GCP subscriptions/projects, identify unused or non-compliant resources, and assist in executing a clean-up plan in coordination with the team.

  • User Access Controls Review: Partner with senior engineers to perform a review of IAM roles and permissions across cloud platforms, producing a summary report of findings and recommended remediations.

  • Service Ticket Analysis & Documentation: Analyze incoming service ticket patterns, help develop or improve runbook documentation for recurring request types, and assist in building a self-service knowledge base article for common issues.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Cloud Computing, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with IT service management concepts and experience using ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, or similar).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage and document multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
