This job is responsible for defining and leading the engineering approach for complex features to deliver significant business outcomes. Key responsibilities of the job include delivering complex features and technology, enabling development efficiencies, providing technical thought leadership based on conducting multiple software implementations, and applying both depth and breadth in a number of technical competencies. Additionally, this job is accountable for end-to-end solution design and delivery.

Profile Summary:

Global Markets Post Trade Technology is seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of next-generation post-trade solutions supporting Bank of America's modernization strategy. This role will focus on emerging digital asset technologies, including tokenization, stablecoins, blockchain, and distributed ledger technology (DLT), while helping position the organization for future industry and DTCC modernization initiatives. The successful candidate will serve as a technical leader responsible for driving innovation, defining architecture standards, evaluating new technologies, and delivering scalable solutions that enhance settlement efficiency, resiliency, and operational excellence. This position requires a combination of deep technical expertise, financial services domain knowledge, and the ability to influence strategic technology direction across multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensures that the design and engineering approach for complex features are consistent with the larger portfolio solution

  • Define the technology tool stack for the solution and evaluate and adapt new testing tool/framework/practices for team(s)

  • Enables team(s)/applications with Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) capabilities and engages with other technical stakeholders pertaining to efficient functioning of CI-CD pipeline

  • Guides and influences team(s) on design and best practices for high code performance –e.g. pairing, code reviews

  • Provides end-to-end delivery of complex features, including automation, for either a single team or multiple teams, at the program level

  • Conducts research, design prototyping and other exploration activities such as evaluating new toolsets and components for release management, CI/CD, and features

  • Works with stakeholders to establish high-level solution needs and with architects for technical requirements

  • Lead the architecture, design, and development of blockchain and distributed ledger solutions for post-trade technology.

  • Evaluate and implement tokenization frameworks and digital asset processing capabilities.

  • Develop solutions supporting stablecoin-based settlement and future-state transaction processing models.

  • Partner with business, architecture, risk, and operational teams to define strategic technology roadmaps.

  • Drive modernization initiatives that reduce reliance on legacy platforms and improve scalability.

Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience in enterprise-scale environments.
  • 5+ years of experience with blockchain, digital asset or distributed ledger technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with tokenization platforms, digital assets, and smart contract development.
  • Strong understanding of stablecoins, digital payments and emerging settlement mechanisms.
  • Deep knowledge of blockchain frameworks such as Hyperledger Fabric, Ethereum, Corda, Quorum, or similar platforms.
  • Expertise in Java, Scala, Python, or other modern object-oriented programming languages.
  • Experience designing cloud-native and microservices-based architectures.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, event-driven architecture, and distributed systems.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, and automated testing frameworks.
  • Knowledge of cryptography, consensus mechanisms, digital identity, and blockchain security controls.
  • Experience integrating blockchain solutions with traditional enterprise systems.
