Job description

Project Manager – Heavy Civil Construction (Dams, Tunnels, Underground)
Engineering & Construction Innovations, Inc. (ECI)
Oakdale, Minnesota, with project assignments across the Midwest (Travel Required)
$105,000 - $160,000 per year, based on experience
About the work:
Most project managers run work inside a big company's system. At ECI, the job is different. We work on hydroelectric dams, tunnels, and underground and geotechnical projects that most contractors won't take on, and our project managers own the whole job: the schedule, the budget, and the owner relationship. There are no layers between you and the decision. If you have been running work inside a larger contractor and want a job where the project is actually yours, this is that job.
What you'll do:

  • Lead project teams with safety, quality, and productivity as non-negotiables

  • Train your project engineers to run work of their own

  • Run change orders and risk, and keep the owner relationship solid

  • Direct field engineering, surveying, and quality control

  • Manage subcontractors, procurement, and resource allocation

  • Own CPM schedules, budgets, cost accounting, and forecasting

Travel
Our projects are long-term assignments across the Midwest, often away from home. Project related travel is typically 25-50%. ECI offers competitive traveler benefits for projects away from our Oakdale office.
What we're looking for:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management

  • Minimum 5 years experience heavy civil construction project management on U.S. based projects

  • Proven CPM scheduling, estimating, and subcontractor management

  • Willingness to travel to long-term project sites across the Midwest

  • Authorized to work in the U.S. now and in the future without employer sponsorship

A plus, not a requirement: dam, hydro, tunnel, or geotechnical project exposure; EIT certification; survey or layout experience; an internship with a heavy civil or underground contractor.

Pay and Benefits:
  • $105,000 - $160,000 per year, based on experience and project scope

  • Competitive traveler benefits on project assignments

  • Medical, dental, vision insurance and wellness program

  • Short-term disability, long-term disability and life insurance

  • Simple IRA retirement plan with company match of 3%

  • 15 days of PTO plus 6 paid holidays
