Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

  • Provides support on HVAC construction job by reading and interpreting blueprints as needed by foreman to ensure a timely and quality completion of the project.
  • Provides the required laying out of the roof penetrations and ducting; and, laying out of the sheet metal fittings as directed by the foreman.
  • Provides assistance to the Construction foreman as needed on the job.
  • Provides support by coordinating and following job schedules; i.e., labor hours, and material costs.

Performs other related duties and projects as assigned by management


Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Commercial HVAC Installation Knowledge
  • Knowledge of sheet metal installation and piping of commercial HVAC units.
  • Knowledge of plumbing and pipe fittings, and ability to perform sheet metal assembly.
  • Knowledge of and ability to read blueprints on HVAC refrigeration, electrical and plumbing.
  • Ability to hang evaporation coils and install overhead hangers.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools and good mechanical skills.
  • Knowledge of jobsite safety, ability to oversee work activities to ensure safe work practices and safety rule compliance.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • High school diploma and trade or technical school classes; 4+ years experience in the construction industry, and hands on field experience in commercial HVAC construction;  and major market remodeling.
  • Knowledge of commercial HVAC construction products and tools.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration equipment
  • Knowledge of blueprints, detailing HVAC duct fittings.
