Job description

Description
The Wm Michael Barnes '64 Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISEN) within the College of Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for two (2) part-time and/or full time, open rank academic professional track (APT, non-tenure) positions at the (Visiting) Professor of the Practice, (Visiting) Lecturer, (Visiting) Senior Lecturer, (Visiting) Principal Lecturer, (Visiting) Instructional Assistant Professor, (Visiting) Instructional Associate Professor, or (Visiting) Instructional Professor level with teaching expertise in industrial and systems engineering and/or data science/engineering. This is a 9-month academic appointment, and the possibility of an additional summer appointment is contingent upon need and availability of funds, beginning as early as Fall 2026. Successful applicants will teach primarily at the undergraduate level in support of the development of the undergraduate program; collaborate in instructing writing and communication, advise and mentor undergraduate students; and participate in relevant aspects of the department's activities. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Applicants should consult the department's website to review our academic and research programs (engineering.tamu.edu/industrial).
In ISEN, many of the 31 tenured/tenure-track faculty and 16 teaching-focused faculty (APT) hold several national distinctions, including the Frank and Lillian Gilbreth Industrial Engineering Award, the Albert G. Holzman Distinguished Educator Award, Fellow of IISE, HFES, ASME, and ASEE, and Editor-in-Chief. The department has strong and vibrant research programs in Advanced Manufacturing, Data Science, Human and Health Systems Engineering (Human Factors and Ergonomics), and Operations Research. The ISEN student population is comprised of over 700 undergraduate students (sophomore to senior level) and over 200 graduate students. Qualifications
For appointments at(Visiting) Professor of the Practice level, applicants must have a minimum of 20 years professional experience, and an earned master's level degree or at least 18 graduate credit hours in the Data Engineering or a closely related discipline.
For appointments at (Visiting) Lecturer, (Visiting) Senior Lecturer, (Visiting) Principal Lecturer, (Visiting) Instructional Assistant Professor, (Visiting) Instructional Associate Professor, or (Visiting) Instructional Professor level, applicants must have a doctoral degree in Data Engineering or a closely related discipline.
