Cybersecurity Operations Analyst I
(Location, Job Type: Full-time/Temp, Hybrid, Remote or On-Site)
Fisher Phillips, a premier international labor and employment law firm is seeking a skilled and experienced Cybersecurity Operations Analyst I. In this essential role, you will contribute to the seamless operation of our services, providing crucial support to our department in delivering exceptional client service and maintaining our commitment to excellence.
Position Summary
The Cybersecurity Operations Analyst Iwill work as part of the Firm's Information Security Team to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Fisher Phillips' cloud and on-premise network and internal business networks. This position will be responsible for analyzing security events, enriching event data through contextual and threat analysis, and responding to, re-mediating, and coordinating incident response actions with other stakeholders. The successful candidate must be able to learn about existing processes and systems, evaluate them for weaknesses, and make improvements that will make security operations more effective and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
Security Monitoring & Alert Triage
  • Monitor alerts generated by SIEM, endpoint protection, email security, and identity platforms.
  • Perform initial triage of suspicious events and escalate complex incidents to senior analysts.
  • Review phishing reports, malware detections, suspicious logins, and policy violations.
  • Document investigation steps and ticket updates.

Incident Response Support
  • Assist in containment and remediation activities during security incidents.
  • Collect logs, screenshots, indicators of compromise, and system details.
  • Follow incident response playbooks and escalation procedures.
  • Participate in post-incident documentation and lessons learned.

Vulnerability Management
  • Review findings from tools such as Tenable Nessus, Qualys, or CrowdStrike.
  • Help track remediation tickets and due dates.
  • Coordinate with IT teams to validate patching and closure of findings.

Identity & Access Security
  • Review privileged access, MFA gaps, dormant accounts, and risky sign-ins.
  • Support platforms such as Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, and SSO integrations.

Collaboration & Improvement
  • Work closely with IT support, infrastructure, and senior security staff.
  • Participate in training, labs, and certification development.
  • Learn scripting and automation basics for repetitive tasks.

Governance / Compliance Support
  • Assist with evidence gathering for audits and security assessments.
  • Update security procedures, inventories, and internal documentation.
  • Support security awareness campaigns and phishing simulations.

Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 0-2 years of cybersecurity, IT help desk, system administration, networking, or related experience.
  • Basic understanding of:
    • Windows operating systems
    • Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN)
    • User account management
    • Common cyber threats such as phishing and malware
    • Security best practices

Preferred Qualifications
  • Entry-level certifications such as:
    • CompTIA Security+
    • CompTIA Network+
    • CompTIA A+
    • ISC2 CC
  • Internship, home lab, military, or technical support experience.
  • Exposure to tools such as Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike Falcon, SumoLogic, or Mimecast.
  • Basic scripting knowledge in PowerShell or Python.
