Job description

Description

A fast-moving, relationship-driven commercial construction firm based in the Philadelphia area is seeking a Vice President of Business Development. Operating as a full-service General Contractor, we specialize in construction management across the Eastern Seaboard, focusing on projects ranging from $1M to $10M.

This is a high-impact, "rainmaker" role designed for an entrepreneurial leader. You will begin as a senior individual contributor tasked with immediate revenue generation, eventually building and leading a scalable sales organization as you progress on a defined path toward company ownership and succession.

The primary objective of this position is to accelerate our growth from $25M to over $50M in annual revenue. We are not looking for a traditional "sales manager," but rather a hunter who can leverage deep, transferable commercial construction relationships to secure new business immediately.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Immediate Revenue: Personally generate a minimum of $10M in new deal volume annually.
  • Strategic Execution: Develop and articulate a credible 30/60/90-day plan to secure "low-hanging fruit" and near-term wins.
  • Build the Infrastructure: Following initial traction, recruit and lead a high-performing sales team to scale the organization.
  • Partnership Management: Partner closely with owners, developers, architects, and engineers across the full project lifecycle.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

You are a competitive, owner-minded professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is more interested in building a long-term legacy than maximizing a title.
  • Experience: Currently or recently active as a senior BD leader in commercial construction, ideally having carried a personal revenue number.
  • Network: Possesses deep, transferable relationships within the industry.
  • Project Expertise: Familiarity with tilt-panel warehouses, industrial facilities, mid-rise commercial buildings (up to 10 stories), retail developments, and assisted living facilities.
  • Background: Candidates from larger GCs who are accustomed to $1M–$10M projects but desire more autonomy and equity potential are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Exclusion: Please note that experience primarily focused on high-rise construction will not translate well to our project focus.

Benefits
  • Base Salary: $125,000 – $175,000.
  • Commission: 1% of Gross Revenue.
  • Incentive Bonus: Up to 30% of base salary (structured 10/10/10).
  • Total Compensation Target: $200,000+.
