JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct microbiological, chemical, physical, and sensory analyses of dairy products.
  • Hold, release, or reject finished goods based on analytical results.
  • Verify product compliance with specifications and promptly report any deviations to management.
  • Perform in-plant checks including weights, temperatures, ingredient usage, product appearance, code dates, pH levels, and metal detection.
  • Calibrate and perform scheduled preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment.
  • Conduct daily evaluations of finished products.
  • Perform environmental testing to ensure sanitary conditions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all laboratory tests and procedures.
  • Ensure a clean, sanitary, and safe laboratory environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent, required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or related field, preferred.
  • Previous experience in a laboratory environment required.
  • Previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; capable of performing basic mathematical calculations and accurately recording data.
  • Proficient in following standard operating procedures and safety protocols with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and various shifts as required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced, dynamic environments.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to frequently stand, walk, kneel, reach, climb, pull, and bend.
  • Must be able to routinely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; and occasionally 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to work for extended periods in a cold, damp environment.
