What does an internship helping the elderly involve?

An internship helping the elderly typically involves assisting senior citizens with daily activities, providing companionship, and supporting their physical and emotional well-being. Interns may work in settings such as nursing homes, community centers, or home care programs. Duties can include organizing recreational activities, helping with meal preparation, accompanying seniors to appointments, and offering social support. This experience allows interns to develop empathy, communication skills, and an understanding of geriatric care. It is ideal for students interested in healthcare, social work, or community service.

What responsibilities can I expect during an internship helping the elderly, and how do they contribute to my professional development?

During an internship helping the elderly, you can expect to assist with daily activities, organize recreational programs, provide companionship, and support staff with administrative tasks.
