Job description

Program Planning & Scheduling Specialist, Melbourne, FL 32904 ($25-40/hr)
Immediate opening for a Program Planning & Scheduling Specialist responsible for developing, maintaining, and coordinating the Integrated Master Plan (IMP) and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) to support program objectives and deliverables. This role ensures project schedules and plans are fully integrated across cross-functional teams, including finance, engineering, materials, manufacturing, and quality assurance. Responsibilities include monitoring project timelines, conducting risk and critical path analysis, resolving network logic and scheduling conflicts, and providing schedule performance insights. The position requires proficiency with project management and scheduling tools and methodologies such as Gantt charts, PERT analysis, milestone tracking, and Earned Value Management (EVM) to measure progress, identify variances, and drive corrective actions in critical program areas.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and maintain Integrated Master Plans (IMP) and Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) to support program milestones, deliverables, and objectives.
  • Coordinate and integrate schedules across cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, materials, finance, and quality assurance.
  • Conduct critical path analysis, schedule health assessments, and network logic validation to identify risks and improve schedule performance.
  • Apply industry-standard scheduling methodologies and compliance metrics, including DCMA 14-point analysis, Earned Value Management (EVM), and Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA).
  • Utilize scheduling and project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Open Plan, and Primavera P6 to track progress, identify bottlenecks, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support program reviews including Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBR) and Joint Surveillance Reviews (JSR), and provide recurring status reports and schedule performance updates to leadership.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet competing deadlines in a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience developing and maintaining Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, as well as Microsoft Project.
  • Working knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) principles, reporting, and schedule performance analysis.
  • Experience supporting programs within the aerospace or defense industry preferred.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance, or the ability to obtain one, may be required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Prior experience supporting aerospace and defense programs in a scheduling or program controls capacity.
  • Knowledge of Schedule Risk Assessment (SRA), Critical Path Methodology (CPM), and DCMA 14-point schedule health metrics.
  • Strong understanding of EVMS guidelines, Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) development, and material cost management processes.
  • Experience supporting large-scale, cross-functional government or defense-related programs.
