Job description

Acute Care Psychiatric Aide
Acute Care Behavioral Health Technician
Location: Orlando & Sanford
Pay Rate: $16/hour
Shifts: 7 AM - 7 PM OR 7 PM - 7 AM
Full Time Schedule: Rotating weeks (Mon., Tues, Fri, Sat) & (Sun, Wed, Thurs)
***Must be be comfortable using crisis intervention techniques for de-escalation and restraint***
***Must be able to pass a level II background check/fingerprinting and drug test***
Summary
As a Behavior Technician at Aspire Health Partners, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with behavioral health challenges. This position is essential in implementing treatment plans and providing direct support to clients, helping them aspire to healthier and more independent lives.
Responsibilities
  • Documentation of Close Observations/Q15 Checks
  • Conducting assigned groups, including art and therapy group.
  • Taking vital signs and recording at times specified by unit protocol.
  • General housekeeping of the unit, keeping unit clean during shift.
  • Accompanying staff and clients to court hearing and treatment team meetings when appropriate and necessary.
  • Accompanying staff and clients to medical appointments/transfers when necessary.
  • Setting up dining room for meals.
  • Greeting, checking in, monitoring, and assisting visitors on visitation days.
  • Completing Admission search and paperwork including an inventory of all client belongings to be signed by two (2) staff members and client.
  • Prepare client for discharge by retrieving client's belongings from their designated storage area and reviewing that all items, including valuables and medications that were brought in are returned to client. Have client and two (2) staff members sign inventory sheet once all items are accounted for.
  • Assist Nursing Staff to carry out prescribed treatments when needed.
  • Assist clients in personal care and hygiene.
  • Supervise all client activities. 1:1 with clients as needed and ordered by Medical Provider.
  • Obtain Urine Drug Screen as directed by nursing staff.
  • Assist with management of disruptive clients.
  • Reports relevant information to Charge Nurse, including any behavioral changes.
  • Makes rounds of entire unit while observing clients as needed.
  • Maintains all Constant Observations/Q15 Checks and records accurately every 15 minutes.
  • BHT'S are expected to comply with and be familiar with unit rules and regulations as well as all policies and procedures.
Requirements

  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Registration driver's license record in accordance with the underwriting guidelines set by Aspire's insurance company.
  • High School Education or equivalent required.
  • Experience in a psychiatric setting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
