Working closely with the Human Resources Manager, you'll gain experience across recruiting, onboarding, employee development, HR systems, and organizational initiatives. The internship combines meaningful project work with mentorship and professional development, providing insight into how people strategies support business growth and employee success.

The Work

  • Support recruiting efforts, including job postings, candidate communications, interview coordination, and maintaining applicant tracking records.
  • Assist with onboarding activities, helping prepare orientation materials, track onboarding tasks, and support the new hire experience.
  • Gain exposure to HR operations, including employee records management, HR systems administration, reporting, and documentation.

  • Participate in employee engagement efforts, assisting with internal communications, recognition initiatives, and culture-building activities.
  • Learn HR technology and processes, developing familiarity with systems, workflows, and tools used to support employees throughout their lifecycle with the firm.
  • Contribute to special projects, assisting with research, process improvement initiatives, policy updates, and other strategic HR priorities.

  • You're organized and detail-oriented, recognizing that accuracy and follow-through are critical in HR.
  • You communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing.
  • You embrace technology, including AI-enabled tools, and look for opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with AI tools, collaboration platforms, or HR technology is beneficial but not required.
  • Demonstrated interest in human resources, talent acquisition, employee development, or organizational culture.

The Development Experience

The Human Resources Internship is intentionally designed as a developmental learning experience.

Interns receive exposure to multiple areas of human resources, mentorship from experienced professionals, and opportunities to contribute to meaningful projects that support the employee lifecycle. As knowledge and confidence grow, interns are encouraged to take ownership of projects and contribute ideas that enhance the employee experience at Heritage.

This internship is designed to build practical HR knowledge and professional skills while providing insight into the role human resources plays within a growing multi-family office.

Compensation & Development

  • Competitive hourly compensation.
  • Hands-on experience across multiple areas of human resources.
  • Direct mentorship from HR and business professionals.
  • Exposure to HR technology, recruiting processes, employee development programs, and organizational initiatives.
  • Opportunity for extended internship or future employment consideration based on performance, capabilities, and business needs.

Core Values Alignment

Successful candidates will demonstrate alignment with Heritage's core values:

  • Collaboration – Works effectively with others to achieve shared goals.
  • Intellectual Curiosity – Seeks opportunities to learn, grow, and improve.
  • Integrity – Handles information ethically and consistently does the right thing.
