  Graphic Design Internship 

Marbles Kids Museum is a vibrant, nonprofit children’s museum and IMAX Theatre located in the heart of downtown Raleigh. Marbles has been sparking imagination, discovery, and learning through play since opening its doors in 2007. Marbles serves a diverse population of families, school groups, and community organizations through award-winning play-based exhibits, summer camps, IMAX documentaries, feature movies, and special events year-round. Today Marbles ranks among the top family destinations in North Carolina providing learning experiences for children with creative programs, and larger-than-life movies.  
 
The Opportunity
 
Are you a creative thinker with a passion for visual storytelling and brand design? Join Team Marbles as a Graphic Design Intern and help bring the magic of play to life through compelling visuals. 

The Graphic Design Intern will support the creation of engaging print and digital assets that promote Marbles’ exhibits, programs, events, and mission. This internship offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced, collaborative nonprofit environment, allowing the intern to strengthen design skills, build a professional portfolio, and gain real-world experience supporting a mission-driven organization. This is an unpaid internship. 
 
Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Create engaging designs that adhere to the Marbles brand identity and guidelines.

  • Collaborate with the Graphics Team and other departments to support the creation of original designs that showcase Marbles' brand and mission. 

  • Support the Graphics Team on internal graphic requests and projects.  

  • Assist with the installation of graphics and signage fabrication as part of exhibits, events, and programming. 

  • Attend and participate in Graphic Team meetings. 

Ideal Experience and Skills 

  • Must be enrolled in a formal education class that requires an internship for academic credit. 

  • Excellent creative, verbal, and written communication skills. 

  • Experience working with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop is required. 

  • Experience working with Creative Cloud Product preferred. 

  • Pursuing a degree in Graphic Design or a closely related field. 

Physical Demands  

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 

  • Role requires walking, standing, stooping, and bending.  

Schedule 

  • Availability to work weekdays between 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
