Job Description:

This position will be responsible for designing circuit card assemblies and supporting cradle to grave products across multiple customer-funded programs within our Spectral Solutions business area within the Space Mission Systems segment of L3Harris Corporation.  In this role, individuals will lead the design of circuit card assemblies for ground and space-based applications.  They will need a strong knowledge of analog, digital, and power circuit design.  Individuals will need to have a high level of attention to detail.

Our Spectral Solutions business area serves a broad array of government, civil and commercial customers by enhancing information superiority, contributing to our national security and providing actionable data for the protection of property and human life. We specialize in high-reliability space-based remote sensing end-to-end systems that offer active and motion imaging and data processing, exploitation and dissemination. We also provide solutions that map and monitor the earth for a variety of commercial and governmental users.


Essential Functions:

  • Lead and own the design of a circuit card assembly.
  • Design of digital, analog, and power circuits.
  • Perform circuit analysis for Beginning of Life and End of Life applications.
  • Perform schematic capture.
  • Evaluate EMI, Signal Integrity, and IR drop impacts on signals.
  • Provide input and maintain circuit cards specification and requirements.
  • Evaluate and select key materials and components for the design environment
  • Review and provide feedback on drawings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience.  Graduate Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.


Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience designing in a space environment.
  • Hold a current security Clearance or the ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Schematic entry, simulation, and analysis of power, analog, and digital circuits.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: Precision analog design, power supply design, stability analysis, noise analysis, FPGA interfaces, signal integrity
  • Experience performing worst-case analysis on analog, digital, and power circuits.
  • Experience writing performance specifications.
  • Participate and contribute in technical reviews.
  • Experience with SPICE, MathCAD, Matlab, Simulink, Allegro, Xpedition, and MentorGraphics tools
  • Experience performing Worst Case analysis
  • Experience leading teams and project designs
  • Trade study execution and ownership
  • Provide mentorship to early career engineers
