Job Summary:

The Grounds Staff are key members of the course maintenance team and is responsible for the landscaping and maintenance around the golf course.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains clean and organized works areas on the golf course and maintenance facility
  • Mows greens, aprons, fairways, roughs, tees, and other areas
  • Waters tees, greens and fairways; operates irrigation heads in dry areas needing additional water
  • Repairs the irrigation system, pipes and irrigation heads as needed
  • Grades and prepares soil base, lays sod and seeds greens, tees and fairways
  • Trims and prunes hedges and shrubbery; cleans flower beds
  • Applies pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers to the golf course
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Experience and Skill Requirements:

  • Must possess the ability design, coordinate, and maintain landscaping on the golf course
  • Must possess the ability to create spray programs for the golf course including greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and landscaping
  • Must possess the ability to operate all tools and equipment related to golf course operations
  • Ability to give oral and written instructions
  • Skilled in seeding, fertilizing, mulching, and general ground preparation for restoration and renovation
  • Must be dependable

Working Condition:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is often required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls.
