Job Description
Govini is looking for motivated, curious, and data-driven individuals to join our team as Implementation Engineers. Implementation Engineers at Govini have a quantitative mindset and firm understanding of how to use technology and data to solve hard customer problems. Implementation Engineers are responsible for leveraging quantitative skills to configure Govini's technology to achieve customer outcomes, communicate data-driven insights to executives in the national security community, and produce compelling program insights, data visualization, and briefings.
In order to do this job well, you must be analytical, understand people, have a strong drive to use technology to solve the hardest problems, and want to learn everything, particularly about the most pressing national security challenges confronting the nation and how data and machine learning can help address them.
You're eager to build a deep understanding of US Government and Defense acquisition processes and the importance of effective and efficient program management, supply chain risk management, and program and technology modernization. You ask hard, uncomfortable questions. You know there are always multiple answers to hard problems, and you know how to engage in a constructive dialogue to find the best path forward.
This role is a full-time position located out of our office in Arlington, VA.
This role requires 60% travel to client sites across the United States - CONUS and OCONUS
Scope of Responsibilities
  • Develop expertise in Govini's clients, offerings, and data, and support customers as a Govini product and data expert
  • Execute the successful implementation of software and data to Govini's customers and provide platform training
  • Use coding languages (SQL, Python) to conduct technical platform configuration and data integration, or be able to quickly learn and implement these skills
  • Collaborate with Govini Engagement Managers and Product Managers to capture market demand and user needs for inclusion into Govini's offerings
  • Proactively drive utilization of the product using targeted training and engagement strategies that drive mission outcomes and analytical insights for platform users
  • Develop and maintain documentation, such as tailored user guide reference materials
  • Conduct research and develop quantitative analytic reports using Govini technology and data
  • Orally and visually present data-driven findings concisely and compellingly to internal teams, as well as government officials
  • Demonstrate knowledge in areas such as US Government programs and operations, federal acquisitions and program management, government procurement practices, supplier assurance, federal contracting, Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE), Supply Chain Risk Management, and Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) analysis

Depending on your background and expertise, you could also be responsible for:
  • Support the success of Govini's clients via end-user training and user support
  • Provide technical workflow development and configuration
  • Communicate data-driven insights to executives in the national security space
  • Conduct in-depth quantitative and qualitative analyses on problems of importance to U.S. national security community using data visualization, compelling written paper and briefings
  • Provide product demonstrations in support of sales pursuits efforts

Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, International Relations, Political Science, International Security or similar fields, or 1-4 years of equivalent experience

Required Skills:
  • Intermediate familiarity/skills with SQL, Python, and R
  • 2-6 years of relevant experience, including undergraduate or graduate roles or internships, performing national security-related analytics; preference for research, quantitative analysis, data manipulation, and data visualization skills
  • Excellent professional demeanor with a willingness to work outside of your comfort zone in a fast-paced environment without hesitation
  • Strong aptitude for solving open-ended issues in unpredictable, unstructured environments
  • Outstanding listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple work-streams and projects, learn quickly, and work independently with little supervision

Desired Skills:
  • Current possession of a U.S. security clearance, or the ability to obtain one with our sponsorship
  • Experience in or exposure to the nuances of a startup or other entrepreneurial environment
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in user support or user engagement with a focus on platform and product utilization
  • Knowledge of defense acquisition life cycle and program management, technology scouting, and supply chain risk management
  • Knowledge of languages/applications, such as React, Typescript, Java, C, GoLang, or the ability to quickly learn these skills
  • Experience within advisory services, software-as-a-service (SaaS), information services, analytic tools, or data analytics industries
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct relevant business case studies and market analysis using internal and open-source data sources
  • History of engaging with and presenting to federal Government stakeholders
