Job Description

Sibylline is looking for a professional intelligence analyst to join our team in an embedded role within a client's security function. Based in Austin, TX and reporting to the embedded AMR Team Lead, the successful candidate will join a 24/7 team of analysts spread across the USA, UK, and Singapore as part of a tight-knit operation providing actionable intelligence and advice. 

This role will gather timely and accurate intelligence on threats and risks to the client globally. Candidates must have strong analysis skills and be technically savvy, with the ability to skillfully conceptualize and synthesize disparate information. For this role, some knowledge or expertise in environmental hazards (e.g. weather), crime data analysis, and/or geographic information system (GIS) software would be highly beneficial.  

This position requires the ability to work on site with the client, with working from home only allowed in limited circumstances. You will exhibit flexibility and adaptability to changing needs of the work schedule including weekend and public holiday work. 

The hours for this position are 11AM - 7PM.

The Global Intelligence and Threat Monitoring Analyst will be managed by the embedded AMR Team Lead day-to-day, but will also report to Sibylline's Embedded Operations team. Full support and guidance will be provided, including training and professional development.  
 

Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Monitor open source, social media and vendor feeds for global security threats. 
  • Draft incident alerts and analytical reports that are timely, credible, and provide actionable insight to internal stakeholders.  
  • Support threat monitoring around client travel, events and operations, escalating incidents as appropriate using rehearsed procedures. 
  • Convey draft recommendations for internal stakeholders during ongoing incidents, senior management updates, and crisis management briefings. 
  • Support the growth of the intelligence function within the client company by working in collaboration with team leads to develop and innovate assessment techniques. 
  • Display creative thinking and consulting skills to deliver a continually improving service for the client, supporting the global business.  
  • Be an effective member of a small team, focused on the delivery of high-impact services. 
  • Collaborate with other Sibylline analysts around the world to stay abreast of best practices, sources and insights. 
  • Work flexibly to ensure that client intelligence requirements are met.  
     

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • In-depth knowledge of geopolitical issues, security threats, and criminal trends with strong awareness of how they impact private sector operations and business continuity.
  • Ability to quickly determine how security events and crises impact business operations, combined with analytical flair for providing rigorous, creative insights into complex situations. 
  • Advanced research skills with ability to manipulate and visualize data, rapidly digest and evaluate large quantities of information, and extract actionable intelligence from complex datasets. 
  • Preferred knowledge or expertise in environmental hazards, natural disasters, climate change risks, crime data analysis, or geographic information systems (GIS) mapping software (ESRI). 
  • Preferred technical competency with analytical software (IBM i2, Tableau, Splunk, Recorded Future, Palantir) and mass notification systems (Everbridge) for advanced threat monitoring and analysis. 
  • Open and flexible mindset with willingness to learn and gain new skills, combined with ability to work effectively in both individual and team environments. 
  • Excellent attention to detail with ability to work across functional teams and maintain quality standards in reporting and analysis. 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in security studies, international relations, business management, organized crime I terrorism, risk management, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in strategic intelligence-focused roles in the private sector, government, military, NGOs, or non-profit research organizations.
  • Preferred additional language skills.
  • Preferred professional network through OSAC, ASIS, AIRIP, or similar industry bodies; and cross-functional experience within a global security team (e.g. threat monitoring, travel security, business continuity and crisis management).

The remuneration for this role is negotiable for the right candidate, dependent on qualifications, aptitude, and experience.  The salary for this position is $91,602 annually, with 1.5x hourly rate for weekend work.
