Job description

Manufacturing Engineer

We’re looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who thrives in a hands-on environment and is passionate about optimizing processes, improving performance, and supporting production teams.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot machines to resolve alarms and downtime
  • Set up equipment for new projects and optimize CNC programs and processes
  • Sample and qualify new products; define and monitor process parameters
  • Lead problem-solving efforts and perform capability studies (CpK, SPC)
  • Track and report production and quality metrics
  • Train and support operators and production staff
  • Conduct shop floor audits to ensure quality and 6IMS standards
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with QMIS, IQI, ISO 14001, and IATF 16949
  • Ensure defect traceability and resource availability
  • Collaborate with suppliers on quality, cost, and delivery
  • Create and maintain work instructions and maintenance plans
  • Launch new products into production
  • Analyze scrap, alarms, and downtime; drive corrective actions
  • Improve production performance (OEE, scrap reduction)
  • Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Assist with shift coordination and team support
  • Serve as a technical point of contact on the production floor

What You Bring

  • Associate’s or technical degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in high-volume manufacturing
  • CNC experience (Turning, Hobbing, or Cylindrical Grinding preferred)
  • Strong understanding of process improvement and problem-solving
  • Experience with SPC, CpK, and practical statistics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (SAP a plus)
  • Skilled with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
  • Strong leadership and training abilities
  • Excellent communication across all levels
  • Automotive manufacturing experience preferred
  • Flexibility to adjust schedule and travel as needed

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, machinery, and moving parts
  • Required PPE: safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel/slip-resistant toe shoes

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Push/pull up to 35 lbs (with material handling equipment)
  • Constant: walking, hand use, finger dexterity
  • Frequent: standing, reaching outward
  • Occasional: reaching overhead, bending, kneeling, squatting, crawling
