About the Department

The East Moline Police Department serves more than 21,000 residents with: - 38 sworn officers plus support staff. - Specialized divisions including: Investigations, Crisis Containment Unit (SWAT), School Resource Officers, K-9, Community Oriented Policing, Metropolitan Enforcement Group (MEG), and the Federal Gang Task Force, QC Mobile Field Force (Crowd Control)

Qualifications & Testing

Applicants must complete: - Physical Agility Test - Written Examination - Interview before the Fire & Police Commission Qualified candidates will be placed on a two-year eligibility list.

Testing Date: Saturday, May 16 and May 30, 2026, 9:00 AM - Physical Agility Test 11:30 AM - Written Examination Location: City of East Moline Maintenance & Engineering Building, 1200 13th Avenue, East Moline, IL Physical Agility Standards: Bench press, sit-ups, sit-and-reach, and 1.5-mile run (age/gender-based standards apply). Bring valid ID and wear clothing appropriate for physical activity. Time will be provided to change before the written exam.

Compensation & Benefits

Starting Wage: $67,965 annually Full Benefits Package Includes: - Pension participation - Health insurance (after 30 days) - Holiday pay & sick leave (after 6 months) - Vacation (after 1 year) - Clothing allowance & educational pay (after 18 months) - Bereavement leave, personal days, comp-time, COLA adjustments (if applicable), and more.
