Job description

The Civil Designer III is responsible for assisting the Engineering Team Leader with assigning tasks and providing direction and assistance to the design group. This position is also responsible for basic site design tasks for construction projects, under the direct supervision of an Engineer as assigned by the Corporate Engineering Manager, or for providing in-depth technical design leadership in one specific area (ex: construction project layouts, parking lot design). This role will work closely with other cross-functional teams (preconstruction, engineering, procurement, construction, and manufacturing production teams) within the organization. The ideal candidate must be recognized as possessing a high level of technical depth in at least one design area.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Associates Degree in Civil Engineering or related field

Experience: At least 8 years' experience. Civil design experience preferred.

Travel: 0-25%

Work Schedule: Typical work hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday; However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides guidance to lower level designers and interns.
  • Performs detailed calculations to compute and establish construction drawings and provides code-compliant layouts under the supervision of an Engineer.
  • Assists in the preparation of topographic and GPR survey information, easement documentation, zoning and permitting, soil sampling, storm water and parking space requirements, and grading plans.
  • Interacts with Engineering, Design and CAD support staff on a daily basis.
  • Creates or assists in the development of engineering plan documents using Autodesk Revit, AutoCad, or Microstation including coordination with designers including redlines, markups, and progress sets.
  • Consistently follows Faith Technologies established design standards.
  • Creates technical manuals for operation and maintenance of products.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
