TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR DOW SKILLBRIDGE JOB OPPORTUNITES YOU MUST BE AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE U.S. MILITARY WITH 180 DAYS OF SERVICE OR FEWER REMAINING PRIOR TO YOUR DATE OF SEPARATION AND HAVE AT LEAST 180 CONTINUOUS DAYS OF ACTIVE SERVICE.
Job Description:
- Utilize a working knowledge of government and international regulations to ensure the effective coordination and consolidation of domestic and international systems to support/process shipments.
- Process government shipments using WAWF, EASE, ETA (FAST and SIR), and GBL, and handle export documents and EEI filings.
- Create various government transportation documents (DD250, DD1348, etc.), bill of ladings, and AWBs to facilitate the movement of goods. Ensure all documentation is accurate and compliant with regulations.
- Work closely with management, programs, customers, DCMA, and carriers/freight forwarders to ensure timely contractual deliveries. Manage multiple tasks efficiently and maintain meticulous attention to detail.
- Prepare detailed reports on all transportation movements, including logistics savings, cost summaries, and carrier scorecards, while effectively communicating with internal and external contacts to provide information and resolve issues.
- Package Tracking Software and RFID mobile scanners to track, log, and analyze all production and non-production materials.
- Utilizing an exetnsive knowledge of CFR 49 and IATA Dangerous Goods regulations to safely handle, transfer, and transport chemicals and/or dangerous goods using appropriate PPE, following the latest Hazardous Chemical Guidebook and internal Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) protocols.
- Lifts heavy items and operates material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks, tow motors, and forklifts, upon receiving internal certification.
- Possesses comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience with SAP Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Transportation Management System (TMS), including the ability to effectively manage inventory, streamline logistics, and optimize transportation operations.
- Utilizes exceptional attention to detail and decision-making skills to identify non-conforming materials based on receiving discrepancy criteria. Collaborates with various departments to resolve discrepancies, preventing revenue impacts and production delays.
- Responsible for executing both physical and administrative tasks to support the receipt and internal distribution of all incoming packages, parts, supplies, and equipment.
- Coordinates material pick-up and delivery schedules with internal end users across multiple segments, departments, and local facilities.
- Continuously identifies gaps and process improvements that lead to cost savings, increased processing efficiencies, and lower turn around times.
- Maintains accurate records of received goods and processes freight bills, packing slips, and other related documents.
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience delivering goods
- Experience in Receiving and Distribution Environment
- Familiar with RYDER, OMS, ASN, P2P, and Allyn systems
- Working knowledge of forklift, pallet jack, and lifting safety
- Ability to obtain DOD security clearance
- SAP WMS/TMS experience
- General knowledge of electronic component handling/packaging/storage.
- Experience with MRP and Agile/PDM software tools
- Current/previous Dangerous Goods by Air certification
