Job description

Floor Hands are part of a 3-5 person work crew responsible for assigned casing functions to ensure continuous production consistent with established Company standards.  The Floor Hand position involves significant physical labor since the Floor Hand assists in rigging up and down, and pulling/laying down drill pipe and casing.  Major responsibilities include general maintenance and cleaning, checking the rig and equipment, and assisting in casing installation.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

●      Available to work 24/7.

●      Must have reliable transportation. (Driver's license incentivized) 

●      Must pass pre-employment and random drug testing

QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:
Floor Hands must be willing and able to safely perform the following activities and/or have the following qualifications and abilities (this list is illustrative ONLY, and is not a comprehensive listing of all activities, qualifications, and abilities essential to this position; this list is not in order of importance):

●      Repetitively climb steep stairs and be able to lift and carry 50 pounds independently up and down the stairs and/or on uneven surfaces.

●      Bend, stoop, kneel, and twist, throughout the work shift.

●      Lift and place slips weighing up to 150 to 250 pounds with two other crewmembers throughout the installation of the pipe.

●      Stay alert and focused while performing repetitive and routine activities.

●      Heavy repetitive exertion throughout the installation of pipe.

●      Understands the process and procedures for using cashing handling tools.  Must be able to identify proper use and hand placement when using the tools.

●      Ability to judge near and far distances to maintain awareness of, watch, and report ongoing work activities to crewmembers and third parties.

●      Maintain spatial orientation and awareness to safely move around work environment with many moving objects.

●      Demonstrate clear communication skills and the ability to follow written and oral directions promptly and correctly.

●      Ability to work effectively and communicate in a work environment that may be noisy.

●      Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and at remote locations.

●      Must be able to walk / work on various ground conditions, limited workspaces & uneven surfaces

●      Must use and/or wear personal protective equipment at all designated times.

●      Good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.

●      Excellent physical and mental stamina is required.

●      Ability to lift, push, pull or carry objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.

●      Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.

●      Must report any Traffic Citations to management within 24 hours

ESSENTIAL FLOOR HAND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following (not listed in order of importance):

●      Assists in ensuring that all pre-job checks are conducted and that the full equipment package is ready for the job.

●      Attends and participates in a pre-job briefing with field crew prior to traveling to the rig site.

●      Effectively and clearly communicates, as required, with mentor/crew pusher and/or tool pusher to ensure that all oil rig acceptance criteria for the installation have been met.

●      Works as crewmember during the actual installation of casing with the supervision of a designated mentor (SSE).

●      Assists with the safe rig up and operation of equipment in accordance with Company procedures and customer instructions.

●      Must understand and at all times be aware and follow all protocol and ensure that all other personnel onsite are conducting operations in accordance with safety protocol.

●      Assists in rigging up and down, pulling/laying down drill pipe and casing. Includes general maintenance and cleaning, inspection of the equipment, and assisting in casing installation.

●      Communicates with senior members of the team to ensure the proper placement of conventional tools and equipment.

●      Reports all safety issues and incidents to immediate supervisor. 

●      Supports other crewmembers by carrying supplies, ensuring compliance with safety procedures, and other additional tasks as assigned job requirements.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES THAT MAY OCCUR:

At times the employee may be asked to perform the following duties: shop work, clerical work, light housekeeping duties in the shop, office, yard and vehicles. Also, attend and / or host safety meetings or task training, if qualified may be asked to do yard, shop or job site safety inspections. If qualified as a company driver may be asked to do driver training and Road Tests. Also may have to fulfill Dispatch, Office or other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

Must actively participate in SSE Program and all Safety Programs. Must report all Near Misses and Incident/Accidents to Supervisor. Must respect, care, and maintain all Tools and Equipment. Must use Stop Work Authority and intervene when there is a question about Safety. When qualified will be asked to Train/Mentor/Coach new SSE Employees. Must follow all TRK Enterprises Policies, Rules and Standards, must immediately inquire from his Mentor or Supervisor if he does not know or understand any Policy, Rule, Standard or Job Task/Work Practice. At all times must maintain good attitude and work ethics and represent the company in a positive, professional and safe manner.
