JOB SUMMARY
The Video Surveillance Unit (VSU). VSU's mission is to ensure the FBI's ability to surreptitiously collect, store, and catalog video evidence and intelligence in support of all FBI investigative programs. KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Some travel may/Frequent travel may be required (10% FBI field offices and RAs)

MAJOR DUTIES:

• Performs system configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, patch management, backup and recovery operations, and lifecycle maintenance to ensure system availability and reliability.
• Manages and supports VMware virtualization platforms, including the deployment, configuration, optimization, and sustainment of virtual machines and associated infrastructure.
• Troubleshoots software and hardware issues, coordinates with vendors and development teams, and assists with testing, implementation, and upgrades to ensure continued system
  functionality.
• Delivers Tier III technical support to end users and field personnel by diagnosing and resolving complex system, server, and application issues.
• Provides technical guidance, develops documentation, and assists with training efforts to improve user experience and operational effectiveness.
• Implements and maintains cybersecurity best practices, including vulnerability remediation, system hardening, access control management, and compliance with organizational security
  requirements.
• Collaborates with network, development, and cybersecurity personnel to support enterprise infrastructure initiatives and technology modernization efforts.

Specialized Experience (SE)
GS-12: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. SE is defined as follows:
• Experience researching, analyzing, designing, implementing, and testing IT systems for administrative, clerical, investigative, technical, and scientific areas within the FBI.
• Experience testing and implement system modifications and proposals.
• Experience identifying issues and problems. Conduct analysis of current systems to determine the feasibility of new or modified IT.
Desired Skills
Desired skills are NOT mandatory and will NOT be utilized to minimally qualify applicants. Desired Skills are:

• Administration and technical support for enterprise infrastructure systems, including Windows and Linux servers, VMware virtualization platforms, storage systems,
  and mission-critical applications.
