Evaluates cardiac patients, plans and implements a cardiac rehabilitation program. Completes established competencies for the position 
within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology or related field from an accredited college or university
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 12 week internship in cardiac rehabilitation
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years experience with exercise prescription in a clinical setting
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: American College of Sports Medicine - Clinical Exercise Physiologist
REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR):
Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have
AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
AHA ACLS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role.

General Functions:
Demonstrates knowledge and skills required for EKG interpretation, taking and monitoring blood pressure, heart rate, pulse oximetry and fitness equipment
Administers appropriate treatments to patients
Demonstrates knowledge of regulatory guidelines (AACVPR), best practices and standard Cardiac Rehabilitation care
Fosters communication with nurses, doctors, patients and families and other hospital personnel to establish department rapport
Provides instruction and supervision to student interns and volunteers ss well as input for performance appraisals.
Maintains timely and accurate medical records
Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively
Maintains safe environment
Addresses patient population-specific needs
Participates in Performance Improvement activities
