To ensure escrow accounts are accurate, property taxes are paid on time, and insurance coverage stays compliant-all while helping members feel confident and informed. Safeguard compliance with federal, state, investor, and organizational standards, minimizing risk and financial exposure. Monitor escrow balances, validate tax and insurance disbursements, and deliver exceptional member support. This role thrives on accuracy, timeliness, and collaboration, with work performed under moderate supervision and guided by Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

  • Demonstrate strength in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and document review with exceptional attention to detail
  • Familiarity with financial institution practices, mortgage servicing, and lending regulations
  • Knowledge of escrow analysis, property tax processes, and insurance compliance
  • Experience in member/customer service, preferably in banking or financial services
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in navigating multiple systems and performing accurate data entry
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates willingness to support and learn from senior team members; shares knowledge when prompted and participates in peer learning activities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and within a team environment
  • Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, and related applications
  • Familiarity with Investor, Insurer, and Navy Federal guidelines as they relate to mortgage loan origination and mortgage servicing
  • Familiarity with Conventional, FHA, VA loans & RESPA guidelines
  • Familiarity with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and/or VA mortgage servicing guidelines
  • Experience in managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goals
  • Experience in preparing accurate reports, maintaining data integrity within servicing systems, and supporting regulatory compliance through routine monitoring and documentation
     

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Navy Federal mortgage products, policies, and procedures
  • Experience as a licensed insurance agent or property tax collector

  • Monday - Friday, 7:30AM - 7:30PM EST or 6:30AM - 6:30PM CST with Saturdays 9:00AM - 1:00PM EST or 8:00AM - 12:00PM CST

  • Interpret and apply complex guidelines, regulations, and procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy including assisting in audit responses
  • Collaborate and communicate with members, internal teams, and vendors through written and verbal channels to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency, leveraging strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Progressively mentors junior team members, offering coaching, feedback, and knowledge sharing to help grow overall organization skillset
  • Review and process escrow analyses in accordance with RESPA, Reg X, Reg Z, FDPA, HPA and investor guidelines, progressing from basic reviews to more advanced analyses and exceptions-including PMI/FHA assessments and mass analyses-as expertise increases
  • Review escrow accounts to ensure accurate tax and insurance collections, billing, and disbursements; identify discrepancies and maintain compliance through timely adjustments and documentation updates
  • Oversee specialized insurance functions, including Hazard and Flood coverage validation for compliance, progressing from foundational tasks to escalations, LPI, PMI, and advanced reviews as proficiency grows
  • Process MI cancellations, FHA reconciliations, delinquency reporting, payment verifications and flood insurance certifications
  • Prepare accurate reports, maintain data integrity within servicing systems, and support regulatory compliance; advanced to producing complex operational, compliance, and monthend reporting packages, including ad hoc analyses in support of Senior Specialists
  • Navigate multiple systems and leverage word processing and spreadsheet tools to manage data effectively
  • Perform vendor oversight functions including completion of vendor scorecards, supporting daily wire functions, and timely invoice processing
  • Engage with vendors and tax authorities across multiple jurisdictions to resolve escalated tax issues
