Job description

Why This Internship
As an intern with Textron, you'll gain hands-on experience while exploring your interests and building new skills. You'll be supported and challenged to contribute in meaningful ways - working on real projects alongside experienced professionals to prepare for future success.
JOB SUMMARY:
Sustainability Interns will work to operationalize sustainability through organizing events, identifying projects, conducting peer-to-peer outreach, collecting & analyzing data, and conducting research.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with identifying and supporting site sustainability improvement projects.
  • Assist with preparation of sustainability presentations.
  • Compile and evaluate sustainability data.
  • Identify site utility consumption, evaluate opportunities to reduce utility consumption and implement alternative methods to reduce utility cost and consumption.
  • Identify plausible opportunities to reduce site energy use.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in:
  • Engineering (Any Discipline)
  • Environmental Health and Safety
  • Environmental Science
  • Sustainability or ESG (Environmental, Social, & Governance)
  • Business Management
  • Construction Management
  • Related field

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Quickly grasps new concepts when faced with unfamiliar tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma desired
  • Computer proficient
  • Analytical and planning skills coupled with the ability to multi-task
  • Builds and maintains constructive relationships

Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.
Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks.
Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
Textron Aviation Inc. must comply with U.S. export control laws. If a position requires access to information controlled under U.S. regulations applicant must be eligible to meet any requirements to access controlled information.
