Part-Time Public Relations/Marketing/Media Relations Assistant Internship Job Description
Overview of Position:
Assistant will provide general administrative and marketing support to Founder and Owner of PR Firm and other Team members in the areas of PR, Marketing, Promotions, Event Management, and Traditional Media, New and Social Media, and Technology. This is an excellent opportunity to get exceptional training, gain networking skills, & grow with an up & coming boutique PR/Branding/Digital Technology Company. *** We are headquartered in NYC (West 31st)***Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter Internship Internship will be performed in both New York (Midtown) and New Jersey (Montclair) ***Need some Interns who can work from Montclair New Jersey and possibly 2 or 3 days in New York (near Penn Station)
Education:
Candidate who has a public relations, journalism, communications, marketing, and/or English major or minor would be a good fit for this position. However, someone studying business or business management can be a good fit also. Current undergraduates are fine as well as candidates with 1 - 2 years of experience.
Requirements:

Length of Internship: 3-4 Month Internship with the Potential for exceptional Interns to be considered for permanent part-time/full-time/freelance opportunity or referral to one of our clients for part-time or full-time work.
Qualifications
***Training Provided***Person must know Windows, Word, Outlook, be Internet and Social Media Savvy and be able to learn quickly and be trained on special software packages and applications. **Helpful if Candidate has their own Laptop (Mac or PC). Candidate must be available at least 15 - 25 hours per week with the possibility of putting in more hours for special projects and events. Candidate also needs access to a Mac/PC with Internet/WiFi Access to be able to work virtually. Assistant will perform weekly administrative duties (i.e. follow-up with clients and prospective clients via phone and e-mail, email campaign, assist with newsletters, contracts, and proposals, etc.) Perform online research for SWOT analysis, surveys, as well as create articles for blogs and social media postings. Additionally, the Public Relations/Marketing Assistant will help with marketing, internal and client business development, press release writing, website updates, graphic design, and Social Media updated as well as Client Projects. Other duties include sales calls and follow-up with clients and vendors, daily action calls, maintain scheduling and meetings, and have the willingness to learn and adapt to changing and new responsibilities. Occasionally, Assistant will need to accompany the owner, our Executive Assistant, or our Team represent Light of Gold PR at Networking events/mixers, conventions, expos, and client meetings in New Jersey and New York City.
