Over the course of the interns' time at Huntington, they gain exposure to key business functions across all segments of the organization. An intern's experience should be focused on professional growth, skill development, and practical application of academic learning. Interns participate in a structured series of development opportunities, including interactions with senior leadership and career pathing insights. The experience also includes immersion in Huntington's awardwinning culture through community involvement and teambased activities. Internships at Huntington are designed to help students build a strong foundation for future career success while contributing to meaningful business initiatives.

Internship Opportunities at Huntington:

Huntington offers internship opportunities for students who are currently enrolled in an academic program and seeking practical, handson experience in their field of study. Internships take place during a defined period of time and are available across all business segments.

  • Rising juniors (Winter 2028 or Spring 2029 grads) may participate in Huntington's Foundations Program, an 8-week, regionally focused experience where students partner directly with a manager and team, contribute to meaningful projects, build professional skills, and explore career opportunities across Huntington and the financial services industry.

All interns participate in a variety of developmental and professional activities designed to support learning and exposure to the organization. Depending on your school year, program components may include:

Huntington Insurance Internship Overview

Within Huntington Insurance, interns gain exposure to how insurance and risk management solutions help individuals and businesses protect their assets, manage risk, and achieve their financial goals. Students partner directly with experienced professionals to contribute to meaningful projects while developing knowledge of insurance products, client service, risk assessment, business operations, and relationship management.

Opportunities may include exposure to commercial and personal insurance solutions, risk management strategies, client relationship management, insurance operations, and business development activities. Interns may support projects involving policy and coverage analysis, market research, client presentations, process improvement initiatives, operational reporting, and data-driven recommendations that enhance the client experience. Successful candidates will gain insight into how insurance professionals work collaboratively to help clients identify, manage, and mitigate risk while supporting their long-term goals.

Huntington Insurance Internships positions will be in either Columbus, OH or North Carolina.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School graduate
  • Enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate accredited University with at least one quarter/semester of school after the completion of the summer program.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and leadership through extracurricular activities and/or work experience
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Proficiency in MicrosoftOffice applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Course(s) of study applicable to the area of business
  • Ability to maintain professional composure in a dynamic work environment that often requires management and completion of multiple tasks
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and ability to apply logical/critical thought processes when developing solutions
  • Ability to display a positive business presence with management and external personnel
  • A strong interest in Banking as a career
  • Relevant Majors: Risk Management & Insurance, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Actuarial Science, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Management, Marketing, Communications, or related fields are encouraged to apply
  • Relevant Coursework: Coursework in risk management, insurance principles, corporate finance, accounting, economics, business analytics, statistics, data analysis, sales and relationship management, business communication, strategic management, organizational behavior, and marketing will help prepare students for success within the Insurance segment.
  • Preferred Skills & Interests: Successful candidates are curious, analytical, and relationship-oriented with strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Students should have an interest in insurance, risk management, client service, financial services, and business development, along with a desire to learn how organizations help individuals and businesses identify, manage, and mitigate risk.
