Job description

Position Overview

Access Health Care Solutions is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in Fort Worth, Texas. This full-time position is essential for delivering high-quality patient care within our onsite hospital facility. As a PTA, you will play a pivotal role in helping patients regain mobility, improve their functionality, and enhance their overall quality of life.

About the Organization

Access Health Care Solutions is a comprehensive provider of rehabilitation services. Our mission is to support patients in their recovery journey through personalized care that addresses their unique needs. We specialize in a variety of rehabilitation services, including Orthopedic Rehabilitation, Neurological Rehabilitation, Geriatric Rehabilitation, Pediatric Rehabilitation, Sports Rehabilitation, and Post-Surgical Rehabilitation. Our team of experienced healthcare professionals is dedicated to creating effective treatment plans that maximize patient outcomes.

Work Environment

The position is based onsite within our hospital, where collaboration and teamwork are at the forefront of our operations. The work schedule typically runs from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility to accommodate patient demands. Our facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and resources, creating an optimal environment for therapy and patient recovery while ensuring safety and efficiency in all therapeutic interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Physical Therapists to implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's condition, focusing on enhancing mobility, strength, and overall functional ability.
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and stretches, providing hands-on instruction and support that promotes both physical well-being and pain alleviation.
  • Educate patients on proper body mechanics, effective exercise techniques, and create at-home exercise programs that support their recovery.
  • Administer therapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy, ensuring compliance with supervision standards set by Physical Therapists.
  • Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, including tracking improvements in range of motion and strength, as well as assessing overall functional gains.
  • Prepare treatment areas by organizing equipment and supplies, ensuring readiness for therapy sessions, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Work in concert with an interdisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists, to coordinate comprehensive patient care and enhance recovery outcomes.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement during therapy sessions, fostering a motivating and compassionate environment for patients.
  • Comply with ethical and professional standards, respecting patient confidentiality and prioritizing patient rights at all times.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work with a diverse patient population that includes individuals of all ages. From pediatric cases requiring sports rehabilitation to geriatric patients undergoing orthopedic recovery, your role will be crucial in customizing treatment plans that effectively address the unique needs of each demographic.

Qualifications
  • An Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • A valid state license or certification reflecting your qualifications as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic interventions relevant to physical therapy practices.
  • Proficiency in implementing therapeutic exercises and modalities, always under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build rapport with patients and work collaboratively with healthcare teams.
  • A compassionate approach to patient care, demonstrating a genuine interest in supporting patients' rehabilitation objectives.
  • Capacity to adapt treatment plans and methodologies to meet the diverse needs of various patient populations.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, complemented by strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional growth and the pursuit of advancements in the field of physical therapy.
Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, individuals with prior experience in a clinical setting or those who have engaged in internships focusing on patient rehabilitation will find this role especially rewarding. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and experience with specialized rehabilitation tools is considered an asset.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 60,000 to 80,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, you will benefit from a comprehensive healthcare package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a retirement savings plan with employer-matching contributions. We provide generous paid time off (PTO), holidays, and opportunities for professional development through continuing education programs. Additionally, employees benefit from professional liability insurance coverage and wellness programs, including gym membership discounts.
