Job description

Elec Electronic Engr Manager

Company:

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is looking for a Manager to join the Attack Helicopter program's Platform Systems IPT (Integrated Product Team) located in Mesa, Arizona.

The Platform Systems IPT is a cross functional team responsible for the entire life cycle of its products which includes Electrical Design and Integration (EDI), Flight Control, Flight Management System, Hydraulics, Electrical Power Systems (EPS), and Environmental Control Systems (ECS).

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead and grow a multi-disciplinary engineering team, to deliver cross-functional product to support Apache and AH-6 helicopter programs.

  • Support program execution across the portfolio: scope, planning, scheduling, budgeting, and earned value/variance analysis.

  • Coordinate statement-of-work decomposition across multiple teams and lead process and staffing improvements.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, industry partners/suppliers, stakeholders, program management, and senior leadership; prepare and deliver executive briefings.

  • Approve technical approaches, provide systems-of-systems oversight, and solve complex integration and troubleshooting challenges.

  • Lead, manage, and integrate new capabilities into the platform including Generator, Modular Open System Hardware (MOSA), Next Gen Environmental Control Systems and Internal Research and Development (IRAD) projects.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 3+ years of experience in Avionics, and Electronics, and/or Environmental Control Systems

  • Leadership experience in managing projects, supplies, and experience in coaching, hiring, and developing people including those who are not in your team

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership"

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in electrical, and electronics product development activities collaborating with customer-facing organizations and internal executing team

  • 5+ years of leadership experience developing electronics and environmental control systems including concept, architecture, design, product development, integration, testing, verification & validation, certification/qualification, and production handoff

  • Experience with Aerospace Electronics Engineering processes and tools throughout the development lifecycle

  • Technically experienced with aerospace avionics line replaceable units (LRUs), especially computers, management systems, network systems and displays, and associated technologies, and their development and certification
