Job description

Senior Electrical Engineer — Data Center Construction (Contract)

Locations: Cheyenne, WY | Phoenix, AZ | Atlanta, GA | Nashville, TN

Contract: 18 months, W2 | Start ASAP (flexible)

Compensation: $70–$100/hr, DOE, plus per diem while on site

The Role

We're looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a live data center construction project already in its execution phase. Design work is complete — this is not a design-focused position. We need someone who can take engineered plans and execute them in the field: managing installation, resolving issues in real time, and keeping the electrical scope moving on a fast-paced, mission-critical build.

This is a hands-on, site-based role for someone who has worked construction-side on a general contractor's team, not on the owner's side, and who is comfortable being the person accountable for electrical execution on site.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee installation and termination of medium voltage electrical systems on site
  • Coordinate and manage electrical subcontractors to keep work aligned with project schedule
  • Lead QA/QC reviews and inspections of electrical installations
  • Identify and resolve field issues and constructability conflicts as they arise
  • Manage punch list items through to close-out
  • Support commissioning activities as the project moves toward energization
  • Interface with GC project management and other trades to keep the electrical scope on critical path

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a strong preference for construction/execution-side work over design
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; equivalent hands-on field experience will be considered
  • Demonstrated medium voltage experience is required
  • Data center construction experience strongly preferred; candidates from semiconductor construction will also be considered, given the transferable skill set
  • General contractor-side experience required — this role sits on the GC team, not the owner's side
  • Willingness to work fully on site, with rotation home for a long weekend approximately every 3–4 weeks

Client

You'll be working directly on site for one of the leading general contractors in mission-critical/data center construction. Client details will be shared with shortlisted candidates.

Contract Details

This is an 18-month W2 contract position with per diem provided while on site. Interviews are underway now, with an ASAP, flexible start date.
