To thrive as an EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) Intern, you generally need a background in environmental science, occupational safety, or a related field, often supported by progress toward a relevant degree. These skills ensure compliance, support a culture of safety, and help identify and mitigate potential workplace hazards.

What does an EHS Intern do?

An EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Intern supports an organization's efforts to maintain safe and environmentally responsible workplaces. Typical duties include assisting with safety inspections, helping to develop and implement safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. EHS Interns may also participate in training sessions, collect and analyze safety data, and help with incident investigations. What are some common challenges faced by EHS interns during their internship, and how can they be addressed?

EHS interns often encounter challenges such as adapting to strict regulatory requirements, quickly learning company-specific safety protocols, and effectively communicating with various departments. Navigating the balance between theoretical knowledge and practical application can also be daunting.
