Job description

Job Summary

WebstaurantStore is seeking a talented Video Scriptwriter to join our team. This role is responsible for developing compelling scripts that educate, entertain, and inspire action across a wide range of marketing, brand, and educational content.

The ideal candidate is an exceptional storyteller who can transform complex topics into engaging narratives while helping shape the creative direction behind each project. This role goes beyond writing dialogue; it involves researching topics, developing storylines, defining messaging, building creative concepts, and collaborating with cross-functional partners to produce best-in-class video content.

Approximately 60% of this role will focus on video scriptwriting and story development, while the remaining 40% will support marketing campaigns through advertising copy, social media content, and other brand communications.

  • Revise and refine scripts based on stakeholder feedback while maintaining narrative quality and strategic messaging.
  • Partner with producers, directors, editors, and on-camera talent throughout the production process.

Story Development & Creative Concepting
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define story structure, messaging, creative direction, and content objectives before scripting begins.
  • Conduct research to gain a deep understanding of products, customers, industries, and subject matter.
  • Develop creative concepts that support marketing initiatives, product launches, recruiting efforts, and brand storytelling.
  • Create interview guides and question frameworks for customer stories, documentary-style productions, and executive interviews.
  • Present creative concepts and script recommendations to leadership and project stakeholders.

Marketing Copywriting
  • Write marketing and advertising copy across multiple channels, including:
  • Paid advertising
  • Social media
  • Campaign messaging
  • Support integrated marketing campaigns through clear, persuasive messaging.
  • Ensure consistency in tone, voice, and messaging across all customer touchpoints.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Video, Social Media, Design, Paid Media, Procurement, and Culinary teams to develop engaging content that supports business objectives.
  • Participate in creative brainstorming sessions, campaign planning, and content reviews.
  • Balance stakeholder feedback while maintaining creative integrity and delivering high-quality work on schedule.
Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed while sitting/standing and interfacing with a personal computer.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs.
Remote Work Qualifications
  • Access to a reliable and secure high-speed internet connection. Cable or fiber internet connections (at least 75mbps download/10mbps upload) are preferred, as satellite connections often cannot support the technologies used to perform day-to-day tasks.
  • Access to a home router and modem.
  • A dedicated home office space that is noise- and distraction-free. The space should have strong wireless connection or a wired Ethernet connection (wired connection is preferred, if possible).
  • A valid, physical address (apartment, suite, etc.). PO Boxes are not supported, as a physical address is required for you to receive your computer equipment.
  • The desire and ability to work and communicate with other team members via chat, webcam, etc.

Experience
  • 5+ years of professional writing experience in content marketing, copywriting, journalism, advertising, video production, or a related field.
  • Proven experience writing marketing and advertising content.
  • Proven experience scripting video content across multiple formats.
Education
