Internship Dry Cleaner information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Internship Dry Cleaner, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Internship Dry Cleaner, you need a basic understanding of garment care, stain removal, and safe handling of cleaning chemicals, typically acquired through on-the-job training or vocational courses. Familiarity with commercial laundry equipment, pressing machines, and tagging systems is commonly required. Attention to detail, reliability, and strong customer service skills help interns excel in this role. These capabilities ensure clothing is cleaned effectively while maintaining customer satisfaction and operational safety.

What are some common challenges faced by interns in a dry cleaning environment, and how can they be overcome?

Interns in a dry cleaning facility often encounter challenges such as learning to handle various fabric types, understanding stain removal techniques, and maintaining quality control under time constraints. Adapting to the fast-paced environment and mastering the use of specialized equipment can also be demanding at first. To overcome these challenges, interns should proactively seek guidance from experienced staff, pay close attention to safety and cleaning protocols, and gradually build confidence through hands-on practice. Open communication and a willingness to ask questions will help interns quickly become valuable team members.

Job description

Overview
Susquehanna is looking for highly motivated full-time students for our 10-week quantitative strategy development summer internship program. This is a computationally intensive role that will allow you to use your strong technical skills to solve problems at the intersection of trading, quant and technology.
Throughout the summer, you will receive education about how markets work by going through a deep dive into financial markets and Susquehanna's approach to trading. You will also work on challenging projects for our trading strategy development teams in spaces such as signal creation and detection, quantitative strategy analysis, and low latency C++ strategy development. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to work on projects side by side with senior developers who understand the nuances of building complex trading strategies.
If your experience is a better fit for our 2027 Trading System Engineering Internship, apply here: https://careers.sig.com/intern-co-op/jobs/10837
What we're looking for
  • Enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or closely related STEM discipline
  • Intention to graduate with a minimum of a bachelor's degree and begin full time employment by August 2028
  • Strong software development skills in Python and a compiled language
  • Experience and comfort working with data using libraries such as Pandas, Polars, or NumPy
  • Exceptional quantitative, logical reasoning, and analytical skills
  • Visa sponsorship is available for this position

What's in it for you:
  • Our non-hierarchical culture allows employees of every level to thrive and make impact. We are not your typical trading firm - the environment is casual, collaborative and we focus on continuous development.
  • Housing provided for duration of internship
  • Relaxed dress code: jeans and sneakers are the norm, shorts all summer long
  • Fully stocked kitchens for breakfast, lunch, snacks, and beverages
  • A forty thousand square-foot state of the art fitness facility with brand-new equipment, multi-purpose courts, group exercise classes, and locker room spaces
  • Discounts for dining, entertainment, shopping, travel, and attractions
  • Social events including a poker tournament, dinners, and sporting events in Philadelphia
  • On-site Wellness Center
  • On-site services such as a mailroom, barber, dry cleaning, and car maintenance
  • Opportunities to give back to the community through Susquehanna sponsored events and donation drives
