Process Technology Scientist, Industrialization
Menomonee Falls, WI
The Process Technology Scientist, Industrialization is responsible for all technical aspects required for the successful commercialization of new products and technologies to ensure their safety, high quality reproducibility and economic viability. This position is primarily responsible for the commercialization of (enzyme modified) processed dairy flavors, spray dries, dry blends and to a lesser degree Liquids Flavors.
Key Responsibilities:
โ€ข Formula Review - evaluate safety, quality & complexity of new formulas / processes. Responsible for review of relevant formulations prior to entry into SAP (e.g. - Processed dairy flavors, Spray Dry, Powder blends and liquid flavors).
โ€ข Write / Modify Manufacturing Instructions - based on R&D creation and subsequent Sample / Pilot plant production.
โ€ข Transfer Scale-up Information to Full-scale Production - capture and transmit scale-up / production data through corporate documentation, written reports, presentations and in-person contact.
โ€ข Oversee sample, trial order and first-time large scale production of 'exceptional' scale-ups in our Pilot Plant, manufacturing sites or external toll manufacturing sites.
โ€ข Trouble-shoot products & processes where safety, reproducibility & economic viability are below expected targets. If necessary, modify the products with the cooperation of R&D, Industrialization colleagues and the Princeton Pilot Plant.
โ€ข Carry out technical Projects related to processed dairy flavors, Spray Dry and Powder blends.

You Bring:
โ€ข Minimum of BS in Food / Dairy Science, Biological or Chemical Sciences, Chemical Engineering.
โ€ข 3-5+ years' experience in R&D, Pilot Plant or Production environment of a dairy food / ingredient processing, spray dry or flavor industry.
โ€ข 'Hands-on' Pilot / Production scale experience with Spray Drying and dairy food / ingredient processes and some working knowledge of operating analytical equipment is required.
โ€ข Must be familiar with GMPs for Food Manufacturing facilities. Must be comfortable working in the lab, familiar with GLPs and the handling of potentially hazardous chemicals in a lab environment.
โ€ข Strong command of the English language in verbal and written communication is essential. French, Spanish or other languages while not required, is a plus.
The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will bebased on the applicant's job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Salary: $87,000.00 - $92,000.00.
