Job description

Resonant Sciences LLC has an immediate opening for a Materials amp; Process Engineer to join our Dayton, Ohio team. The position provides an opportunity to join a fast-paced elite team whose primary mission is to support our Nation's War Fighters. The candidate for this position shall be a self-starter who can work independently, unsupervised, and with little guidance. The candidate will have an opportunity to be a member of a world-class team consisting of talented and dedicated engineers, technicians, and professionals who work together to interrupt and challenge the status quo to design and develop state-of-the-art technologies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are seeking a Materials amp; Process Engineer to create accurate estimates of engineering, manufacturing, and/or fabrication costs for business development proposals, both individually and as a team.
The selected engineer will have responsibility for and should have expertise in the following areas:
  • Support requirements definition, conceptual design, preliminary design, critical design, design review presentations, and fabrication for multiple programs.
  • Analyze design risks, anticipate, and mitigate risks when possible, and report concerns to leadership.
  • Develop manufacturing plans, tooling concepts, and detailed work instructions for fabrication of advanced composite structures.
  • Support advanced manufacturing and process development efforts.
  • Provide hands-on technical support on the shop floor during manufacturing development and production.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS with 10 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering/Science or Composites Engineering.
  • Experience with composite design techniques.
  • Conversant in materials and processes used in the manufacture of aerospace quality composite structures.
  • Knowledgeable in composite materials testing and characterization methods.
  • Familiar with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD amp;T).
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS with 15 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering/Science or Composites Engineering.
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) software such as NASTRAN, ABAQUS, or equivalent.
  • Experience with CATIA, Solidworks, Pro Engineer, Creo, Unigraphics, NX or equivalent 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tool.
  • Familiar with aerospace machining, fabrication, and assembly requirements.
  • Experience building test bodies, models, apertures and antennas to support development of Low Observable platforms.
  • Familiar with application of aerospace and defense coatings.
CITIZENSHIP/SECURITY CLEARANCE:
  • U.S. Citizenship required. Must be eligible to obtain and/or maintain a Secret security clearance. Active clearance is preferred.
