Job description

The program focuses on training research interns in the analysis of 'omics data (DNA, RNA, proteomics, metabolomics and global methylation profiling) using bioinformatics and machine learning techniques for the development of minimally invasive biomarkers for CNS tumors. Research Interns will also engage in data interpretation, experimental analysis, and scientific communication through journal clubs and lab meetings. All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES Intern will gain knowledge in the analysis of 'omics datasets (DNA, RNA, proteomics, metabolomics and global methylation profiling) from cerebrospinal fluid using bioinformatics and machine learning tools; interpret and present experimental data from methods like DNA/RNA extraction, ddPCR, NGS, mass spectrometry and arrays; learn to read and present scientific literature in a journal club setting. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS Applicant must hold a bachelor's or master's degree Degree must have been obtained recently (within one year) Background or strong interest in biological data analysis, neuroscience laboratory techniques, scientific communication and computer science skills.
