Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Content & Social Specialist helps bring the organization’s voice and stories to life across digital platforms. This role supports social media, content coordination, and storytelling efforts by organizing contributors, curating engaging content, and helping maintain a consistent and compelling brand presence online.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support execution of the organization’s content and social media strategy in alignment with ministry goals and communication priorities
  • Maintain and manage the organization’s social media presence across relevant platforms, ensuring consistency in voice, tone, messaging, and brand standards
  • Assist in planning and scheduling content for campaigns, sermon series, events, and ministry initiatives
  • Collaborate with ministry leaders, volunteers, and creatives to gather stories, ideas, and content opportunities
  • Create and/or coordinate creation of posts, reels, stories, videos, graphics, and platform-native content
  • Help identify, collect, and curate stories happening across ministries and events
  • Coordinate and encourage volunteers, contractors, and contributors involved in content creation
  • Help maintain organized content workflows, calendars, and asset management systems
  • Monitor content performance and provide insights on engagement, trends, and opportunities
  • Stay informed on current social media trends, platform features, audience behaviors, and emerging content styles
  • Assist with capturing content at events, services, or ministry activities as needed

JOB PROFILE:

SPECIFIC SKILLS / STRENGTHS

  • Strong understanding of social media strategy, digital storytelling, and audience engagement
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to identify engaging stories and moments across ministries and events
  • Ability to energize and galvanize volunteers and collaborators
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong creative instincts with an understanding of brand consistency and messaging
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with ministry leaders, staff, and creative teams
  • Self-starter who can prioritize, problem solve, and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong instincts for creating content people genuinely want to engage with and share

EXPERIENCE DESIRED

  • Experience managing or contributing to social media, content creation, storytelling, or digital communications efforts
  • Experience creating content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or similar platforms preferred
  • Experience coordinating projects, volunteers, or creative contributors preferred
  • Portfolio or examples demonstrating both strategic thinking and content execution preferred
  • Experience in nonprofit, ministry, agency, or mission-driven environments is helpful but not required

EDUCATION DESIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media, Public Relations, or related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • May help coordinate volunteers, contractors, interns, or other content contributors as assigned.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to speak effectively and understandably on the phone. The ability to effectively present information and respond to common inquiries regarding Chase Oaks ministries is also required.  High attention to customer service.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Proficiency with social media platforms, content management tools, and digital collaboration software.
  • Familiarity with content scheduling tools, analytics platforms, and creative software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, or similar tools preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook calendaring, and email
  • Basic knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
