Purpose
We are seeking an early-career Instructional Designer / Learning Experience Designer to help build and scale high-impact learning experiences that drive performance. This role is designed for someone who is curious, hands-on, and motivated to developย craftย across the full learning lifecycle-from concept through delivery and iteration.ย
You will contribute to both the design and execution of learning solutions that enable technical teams to learn quickly, apply effectively, and continuously improve. Working at the intersection of content, systems, and operations, you will help translate complex information into clear, practical learning experiences while supporting the infrastructure that makes learning accessible and scalable.ย

The Role
Learning Experience Designย
- Support the design and development of engaging learning experiences (e.g., e-learning, microlearning, instructor-led, blended programs)ย
- Translate technical or subject matter expert (SME) content into clear, learner-friendly materialsย
- Assistย in applying instructional design principles (e.g., adult learning theory, learningย objectives, assessment design)ย
- Contribute to experimentation with new learning formats and delivery methods (e.g., cohort-based learning, microlearning)ย
Learning Content Developmentย
- Create and edit learning assets such as job aids, guides, slide decks, and digital modulesย
- Support content reviews, updates, and version control processesย
- Ensure learning materials areย accurate, relevant, and aligned with business needsย
Learning Systems & Operations (LMS)ย
- Assist with Learning Management System (LMS) administration (e.g., course setup, user management, reporting)ย
- Help organize and improve learning content structure, tagging, and navigation within the LMSย
- Support audits of existing content to improve usability and effectivenessย
Learning Pathways & Program Supportย
- Help curate role-based or skill-based learning pathwaysย
- Map learning content to competencies, job roles, or career stagesย
- Support program coordination, tracking, and communicationย
Process, Documentation & Collaborationย
- Document learning processes, workflows, and best practicesย
- Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., engineering, manufacturing, HR)ย
- Assistย with intake, prioritization, and project tracking for learning requestsย
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Learning Experience Design, Education, Psychology, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience)ย
- Foundational understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning theoryย
- Strong written and visual communication skillsย
- Comfort working with digital tools and learning technologiesย
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detailย
- Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controlsย
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Instructional Design, Learning Experience Design, Education, Learning Sciences,ย Organizational Psychology,ย or Industrial / Organizationalย Psychology,ย or a related fieldย
- Experience (academic, internship, or project-based)ย inย creating learning content or training materialsย
- Familiarity with authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Rise, Captivate, or similar)ย
- Exposure to LMS platformsย
- Experience working with subject matter expertsย
- Interest in technology, engineering, or manufacturing environmentsย

Compensation
At Divergent, our pay range is based on the level of the job. For this role, we will consider candidates at level S03 as evaluated through our interview process.ย
