Job description

Job Description Essential functions/major responsibilities:
*Must be at least 18 years old to apply*
• Ask lots of QUESTIONS!! And LEARN!!!
• You will NOT be allowed to work on live systems or actively install any electrical components.
• Learn SAFE Working Practices!
• You will be a part of a working electrical crew. A typical day will involve assisting Journeyman and Apprentice Electricians with Electrical work.
• Learn Electrical theory and develop an understanding of Electrical work practices.
• Identify and locate materials for daily work projects.
• Assisting in clean-up of work areas.
• Various other duties as presented.
Work processes
• The work processes could include the following items:
Work processes
a. Stock room and material handling, Shop; Service
b. Commercial Installations, incl. public bldgs., school, hospital, etc.
Services, switchboards and panels;
Conduit, flex, metal moldings, floor duct and boxes; Wire pulling and taps;
Wire devices;
Lighting fixtures - high voltages, explosion proof, perimeter lighting.
c. Industrial Installations, incl. maintenance, repair & alteration Services, switchboards and panels;
Conduit, tray and boxes;
Motor and equipment
Lighting fixtures - High voltage, explosion proof, security lighting.
d. Intercommunication, Signal and Control Systems
e. Underground Construction Tunnel rack work;
Ditch digging and material handling; Conduit preparation
f. Trouble Shooting and Maintenance
g. Finishing and Fixture Hanging
Job Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be in both outside and inside conditions. The work can be dirty and strenuous, with considerable standing, bending and reaching. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Job may require hours that exceed 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week during peak periods. Employee will face numerous interruptions throughout the day.
