The Corporate Safety Manager – North America is responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the corporate safety program across North American operations. Serving as the subject matter expert for the QES program, this role drives occupational health and safety initiatives, regulatory compliance, risk management, workers' compensation, and customer safety requirements. The position partners closely with Operations, Human Resources, Benefits, and Insurance Providers to foster a proactive safety culture, reduce risk, and ensure compliance with company standards and applicable regulations.

**Corporate Safety & Compliance

**

**

**

  • Manage and oversee all corporate safety policies, procedures, and safety programs across North America.

  • Develop, update, and maintain written safety programs and customer-specific safety documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, provincial, and customer-specific safety regulations.

  • Track and maintain OSHA recordable incidents, DART rates, lost workday rates, EMR, and injury statistics for all facilities.

  • Manage OSHA 300 logs, OSHA Injury Tracking Application submissions, and establishment compliance reporting.

  • Coordinate OSHA inspections, voluntary audits, complaint responses, citations, and corrective action plans.

  • Lead annual OSHA Safety Week participation and compliance initiatives across all U.S. and Canadian locations.

**Customer Safety Programs & Third-Party Compliance

  • **Administer and maintain third-party safety compliance platforms including ISNetworld, Veriforce, and Avetta.

  • Respond to customer safety questionnaires, audits, and time-sensitive compliance requests.

  • Manage customer-specific safety programs, policies, certifications, and training documentation.

  • Maintain and update the company’s online customer safety program documentation and compliance records.

  • Provide Certificates of Insurance, workers’ compensation documentation, and customer-required safety records.

  • Conduct new employee safety orientation training both in-person and virtually via Microsoft Teams.

  • Develop and distribute weekly/monthly safety talks, quizzes, handouts, and training resources.

  • Coordinate DISA compliance training and maintain Drug & Alcohol Program compliance.

  • **Manage PPE reimbursement programs and employee safety initiatives related to equipment, work boots and safety glasses.

  • Develop facility safety checklists, safety booklets, and employee acknowledgment documentation.

  • Coordinate forklift, overhead crane, active shooter, emergency preparedness, and COVID-related training.

  • **Responsible for vehicle and forklift maintenance.

  • **Establish an equipment preventive maintenance program.

**

**Incident Management & Workers’ Compensation

**

**

**

  • Manage all aspects of the occupational injury and illness prevention programs.

  • Coordinate workers’ compensation claims, open claims cases with insurance company, employee leave management, and accident investigations.

  • Partner with HR, Benefits, Operations, and insurance carriers on injury management and return-to-work processes.

  • **Manage reporting and communication with insurance providers including AIG/Horton and Travelers Insurance.

  • Oversee motor vehicle reporting, monitoring, and accident investigations.

  • Emergency preparedness & risk management

  • Support disaster recovery planning and emergency action preparedness initiatives.

  • Coordinate safety communications and preparedness activities for major events and emergency situations.

  • Consult on nuclear-related insurance and policy inquiries with insurance brokers and stakeholders.

  • Provide environmental compliance support and responses to customer environmental questionnaires.

  • Serve as the corporate industrial safety expert and trusted advisor to Operations Managers and leadership teams.

  • Conduct regular safety meetings, facility assessments, audits, and quarterly site visits.

  • Partner with Corporate HR to develop and maintain employee safety and compliance policies.

  • Handle ad hoc safety, compliance, regulatory, and employee-related requests.

  • Attend company meetings and present safety related data

**Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field preferred.

  • 5+ years of corporate safety, EHS, or occupational health and safety experience in a multi-site manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, workers’ compensation, and safety compliance standards.

  • Experience managing ISNetworld or similar contractor compliance systems.

  • Experience with incident tracking, OSHA reporting, EMR management, and safety analytics.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and virtual training platforms.

  • **Ability to travel periodically to facilities throughout North America.
