Assist in developing, implementing, maintaining, and exercising (testing) of the disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity plans (BCP) in accordance with applicable NCUA and PA Department of Banking regulations and PSECU's policies. The plans must ensure the organization is prepared for managing incidents, the recovery of business processes and develops procedures for supporting the recovery of key resources and critical business processes. Will continually provide key insights and reporting related to the organization's business process resiliency, in the development and execution of an annual testing plan and participation on enterprise assurance committees (e.g., Enterprise Risk Management, Business Continuity, and Information Security). Assists in Managing the development and implementation of BCP/DR schedules and testing to include network systems and supporting infrastructure, information security, third party system integration, business processes and governance programs to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of logical assets is maintained while supporting PSECU's business processes and services. Assists PSECU Management and the Board of Directors by providing analysis, appraisals, recommendations, counsel, and information concerning the organization's IT risk management, internal control, and governance processes. Also responsible for participating in any actual disaster recovery and business continuity events.

In this position, you will

  • Risk Assessment: Conducts business impact analysis and assists business units in determining critical business processes, identifies acceptable recovery time periods, and establishes resources required for the successful recovery and resumption of business operations in the event of a disaster. Performs risk analysis for corporate functional areas to identify points of vulnerability and recommend disaster avoidance or reduction strategies.
  • Assist in developing disaster recovery testing methodologies; plans and coordinates the testing of recovery support and business resumption procedures in different functional areas. Reviews recovery procedures to ensure they are effective for the restoration of key corporate resources and for the resumption of critical business processes. Document exercise results and communicate these results to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and guide the efforts of staff members in the development of recovery procedures for key areas of the organization. Coordinate the efforts of staff members in the different functional areas in the development of procedures for the continuity of business processes in a disaster situation. Coordinate the development and distribution of corporate emergency response procedures; updates the emergency procedures to reflect changes in staff size, locations, organization, and home office facilities. Monitors the effectiveness of procedures during evacuation drills and revises the procedures as necessary. Maintains a library of emergency response procedures. During a disaster, assists recovery support and business continuity staff in the implementation of response and alternate operating strategies. Acts as coordinator during a disaster recovery or business continuity event.
  • Conducts disaster recovery and business continuity training for staff members in all functional areas. Provides instructional and informational materials on how employees are expected to respond during a disaster recovery or business continuity event. Assists units in the assignments and training of staff. Assists in the development and implementation an overall strategy for BCP awareness throughout the credit union.
  • Develops and maintains standards and procedures for disaster recovery documentation. Maintains a library of recovery support and business continuity procedures and information.
  • Coordinates the development and distribution of corporate emergency response procedures; updates the emergency procedures to reflect changes in staff size, locations, organization, and home office facilities. Monitors the effectiveness of procedures during evacuation drills and revises the procedures as necessary. Maintains a library of emergency response procedures.
  • Analyzes environmental and equipment configurations for critical corporate resources and recommends disaster avoidance measures and improved backup capabilities. Reviews changes in corporate resources with management to ensure the effectiveness of the recovery procedures and back-up capabilities. Assures records required for recovery are identified and properly maintained in the vital records retention program.
  • Other duties as assigned.
