Key Requirements Summary

We are looking for a hands-on IT leader who can own the full internal technology function for a growing, remote-first professional services company.

Important areas include:

  • Internal IT operations ownership, including uptime, incident response, triage, support, and follow-through

  • Vendor and MSP management, including scope, performance, contracts, service levels, and accountability

  • Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, Intune, endpoints, Teams, VoIP, and core workforce platforms

  • Cybersecurity and compliance support, including MFA, EDR, risk management, client security questionnaires, and working with outside security partners

  • Business continuity and disaster recovery planning, testing, backups, and incident readiness

  • Salesforce, CRM, business systems, integrations, data flow, and platform support

  • AI tools, automation, policy, governance, and practical guardrails for responsible use

  • Website, portal, job board, customer portal, or other external-facing system support

  • Strong communication with executives, vendors, technical teams, and non-technical users

Overview

We are partnering with a growing national professional services company that is hiring an internal IT leader to own technology operations, vendor management, business systems, core platforms, security, and technology execution across the organization.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can be the single point of accountability for internal IT outcomes. The company has a lean internal technology environment supported by outside vendors and partners, so this person needs to be comfortable managing vendors while still staying close enough to the work to understand issues, drive resolution, and hold the right people accountable.

The company uses Salesforce as a key business platform, so Salesforce or related CRM/business systems experience is important. This does not need to be a pure Salesforce developer or administrator, but the person should understand CRM platforms, integrations, workflows, vendors, and how business systems support daily operations.

This role is also responsible for helping mature the overall IT function, including support processes, vendor accountability, security, business continuity, AI/tooling policy, platform reliability, and long-term technology planning.

The position is primarily remote, with occasional meetings in Nashville and periodic company gatherings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own internal IT operations across systems, support, uptime, escalations, incident response, and problem resolution

  • Manage MSP, MSSP, Salesforce, software, cloud, telecom, web, and other technology vendors

  • Hold vendors accountable to defined scope, service levels, timelines, and performance expectations

  • Support and improve Microsoft 365, identity management, endpoints, collaboration tools, phone systems, access controls, and related operational platforms

  • Serve as the internal owner or key partner for Salesforce and related business systems, including integrations, workflow, reporting, vendor coordination, and platform health

  • Partner with leadership on technology roadmap, budgeting, renewals, security, business continuity, disaster recovery, and operational planning

  • Help define and improve IT processes, support models, documentation, escalation paths, and user experience

  • Support cybersecurity and compliance-related needs, including risk management, endpoint protection, MFA, vendor security reviews, and client security questionnaires

  • Help the company evaluate and manage AI tools, automation opportunities, responsible usage guidelines, and practical adoption across the business

  • Support external-facing systems such as website, portals, job board, candidate or customer-facing platforms, and related integrations

  • Lead and coach internal IT resources while coordinating closely with outside technical partners

Ideal Background

  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience

  • 3+ years in an IT leadership, ownership, manager, director, or similar role

  • Experience owning internal IT operations in a lean, mid-sized, remote-first, or growth-stage environment

  • Strong experience managing MSPs, vendors, consultants, software partners, or outsourced support models

  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, Intune, endpoints, Teams, VoIP, MDM, and access management

  • Salesforce, CRM, business systems, RevOps, data integration, or platform support experience

  • Experience with cybersecurity, compliance, risk management, incident response, business continuity, or disaster recovery

  • Experience supporting professional services, legal, financial services, healthcare, staffing, consulting, or other operationally complex environments

  • Ability to communicate clearly with executives, vendors, technical teams, and non-technical users

  • Comfortable being hands-on when needed while still leading at a strategic and operational level

Additional Notes

This is not a strategist-only role. The company needs someone who can own outcomes, ask the right questions, manage vendors, understand the systems, and drive issues to resolution.

This is also not a pure Salesforce developer or administrator role. Salesforce is important, but the broader need is an IT leader who can own the full technology environment and help the company mature its systems, vendors, processes, security, and business platforms.
