As a Commercial Credit Expert to support the Asset Management Group (AMG) within PNC's Credit Risk Management organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA / Birmingham, AL / Charlotte, NC / Philadelphia, PA / Cleveland, OH / Washington, DC / New York City / Tysons Corner, VA / Nashville, TN / Columbus, OH /or Raleigh, NC.
This role is 2LOD Credit Risk oversight of AMG. Primary responsibilities for the role entail Commercial Credit transaction approvals for AMG, oversight of portfolio including monitoring the portfolio, observing performance, reporting on trends, working closely with AMG Credit Sales & Underwriting teams as a credit expert, participating in strategic deal review discussion leading the Credit team on behalf of 2LOD Credit risk. In addition to AMG, this position also requires deep expertise in Small Business and commercial credit products, underwriting standards, portfolio risk management, and endtoend credit processes
Experience:
- Commercial Underwriting experience required
- Experience working with Policy & Procedure
- Familiarity structuring credit deal transactions in a 2LOD role
- Wealth Management experience may be preferred
- 8+ years of industry experience required
- Understanding of UHNW / Structured Lending
Competencies:
Analytical thinking -knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis and ability to determine the root cause and create alternative solutions to resolve the problem.
Credit Risk-knowledge of processes, tools and techniques used to determine the degree of credit risk in a transaction or customer relationship; ability to assess, rate and manage exposure to credit risk.
Ability to work independently, make recommendations, advise on deal discussions with recommendations of alternative structures, challenge business when appropriate to maintain risk appetite
Understand financial analysis, industry trends, deal structures, PNC's credit risk appetite and applying PNC policy

  • Analyzes activities associated with applicable business segment, including the credit approval process, policy and procedural compliance and portfolio risk management, credit monitoring, and reporting.
  • Analyzes the extension of credit, including overdrafts, for clients of high complexity within prescribed approval authorities. Has final approval authority on an obligor's risk rating.
  • Analyzes credit facility structure and underwriting process within the context of credit policies. Supports scorecard related validation, testing and maintenance activities.
  • Ensures understanding of portfolio issues, trends, and root causes in order to manage credit portfolios effectively. Analyzes output to help determine decision-making.
  • Analyzes risk in assigned credit portfolios by reviewing relevant reporting and assessing trends. Maintains knowledge of economic, regulatory and other trends affecting borrowers and helps incorporate this information into the assessment of the borrowers.
