Job Summary:

A successful Manager brings strong leadership, communication, and problem solving skills. The issues we help our clients with are complex and require sophisticated solutions to problems that threaten their competitive position and jeopardize their resources, strategy, brand, reputation, and/or financial standing. You will lead or serve as a Subject Matter Advisor on Crisis Management, Business Continuity, and risk related engagements. In this role, the Manager will leverage their experience in these disciplines, to deliver on engagements by leading and teaching a team of junior staff while managing and reporting to senior leaders. Managers also are expected to assist on internal practice initiatives as required.
The Manager is accountable for ensuring projects are executed on time, within budget and delivering innovative and quality products which bring unparalleled value to our clients.
The Manager is also responsible for mentoring, coaching and the professional development of junior staff and is able to adjust and connect with team members with varying levels of experience.
Job Duties:
  • Develops client policies and strategies to assess and mitigate risk associated with business interruption, disaster recovery, cyber-attacks, black swan events and other strategic crises
  • Recommends enhancements to client operations to strengthen business resiliency and recovery capabilities
  • Leads the development of operational resilience, business continuity, crisis management and disaster recovery plans, training and exercises in support of clients
  • Crafts all aspects of risk and resilience programs (e.g., strategy, governance, operating model, and support training and development needs of senior executives)
  • Designs and facilitates business continuity and crisis management exercises to assess potential business impacts, define critical, time-sensitive processes
  • Develops and facilitates workshops/presentations to clients and executive stakeholders
  • Provides clients with strategic guidance (written and verbal) in the disciplines of business continuity, crisis management and enterprise risk management
  • Contributes to the development of methodologies and intellectual capital
  • Manages consulting engagements, content development, content delivery and client relationships
  • Manages engagement financial and operational health, such as utilization, realization, margin, and sales pipeline
  • Consistently develops and delivers accurate and thorough project status reports to client stakeholders and management
  • Proactively identifies project risks and issues to maintain a "no-surprises rule", and resolves them in a timely manner
  • Cultivates and maintains strong, trust-based strategic relationships with key client decision makers
  • Identifies revenue growth opportunities, and coordinates business development efforts including drafting and issuance of statements of work
  • Applies mastery of consulting methodology, materials, tools, and continuity software
  • Participates in client pitches, and manages new relationships through CRM
  • Other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Provides leadership, technical guidance, coaching and support to Senior Associates and Associates
  • Ensures Senior Associates and Associates are trained on all relevant tools, techniques, and methodologies
  • Evaluates the performance of Senior Associates and Associates, and assists in the development of goals and objectives to enhance professional development

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree, required; focus in Business Administration, Crisis Management or Risk Management, preferred

Experience:
  • Five (5) or more years of consulting experience in crisis management, business continuity, risk, or similar experience as a practitioner, required
  • Information Technology (IT) disaster recovery experience, preferred

Licenses/Certifications:
  • CBCP, MBCI or similar accreditation, preferred

Software:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, required
  • Basic proficiency with resiliency, business continuity and mass notification tools (e.g., Fusion Framework, Everbridge, etc.), preferred
  • Basic proficiency with technology project management methodology, preferred

Language:
  • N/A

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
National Range: $125,000 - $145,000
Maryland Range: $125,000 - $145,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $125,000 - $145,000
