Role Summary
This entry-level IT Administrative and Systems Engineer role focuses on supporting internal IT operations and infrastructure. Reporting to senior team members and the IT Director, the position offers hands-on experience in systems administration, network support, and IT troubleshooting. It is ideal for entry level candidates seeking to develop their skills in a dynamic technology environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 1 technical support to internal end users for hardware, software, and network issues, escalating complex problems as needed.
  • Assist with the administration and monitoring of servers, workstations, and network infrastructure.
  • Support the setup, configuration, and management of user accounts, permissions, and Active Directory.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers on system deployment, testing, and documentation to ensure efficient operations.
  • Monitor system performance and network alerts, escalating issues following established protocols.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Support data backup, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity best practices to safeguard organizational assets.
  • Assist with hardware and software inventory tracking and lifecycle management.
  • Participate in IT projects focused on system integration and infrastructure enhancements.
  • Provide support outside standard hours for scheduled maintenance or urgent technical issues as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, management information systems, or related field; or equivalent coursework/experience.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
  • Foundational understanding of core networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Internship, co-op, or academic project experience in IT support, systems administration, or network engineering preferred.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, or virtualization platforms like VMware or Hyper-V is advantageous.

Publishing Pay Range: $25.00 - $27.00 hourly
