Job description

Gemma Services, located on a picturesque 36-acre campus in Plymouth Meeting, promotes safety and nonviolence while cultivating a caring environment in a diverse and inclusive environment. Gemma Services strives to create a community that promotes recovery from trauma for the children and families that we serve.
Responsible for the recording and maintenance of documentation related to financial transactions. Performs day-to-day accounting tasks to support the overall financial health of the organization. Compiles and analyzes accounts for Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow statement. Performs month end close tasks. Assists in annual audits, cost reporting, and other ad-hoc reporting as needed.
  1. Assist and coordinate in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting with the Controller
  2. Reconcile credit cards, debit cards, operating accounts, cash clearing accounts monthly
  3. Maintain and update asset ledger and calculate Depreciation Expense and Accumulated Depreciation accounts monthly. Track CIP accounts.
  4. Maintain and update Restricted Assets ledger. Coordinate information with CFO and CDCO

Skill(s): Professional experience in accounting, such as internship or staff accountant role; Knowledge of accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures; Ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize to meet deadlines effectively; Ability to maintain confidentiality of company, staff, and client information; Proficient reading, writing, and grammar skills; Proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel (including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, charts and graphs)
Education/Training: A B.S. or B.A. degree in Accounting, Business Accounting or Finance required. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years' related experience required; Healthcare industry preferred
The position will be in person working onsite at the Plymouth Meeting campus Monday through Friday for the first 4-6 months after hire for training; Once training is completed, the position becomes hybrid with in person on-site attendance required at least three (3) times a week, or as needed when working on special projects, annual audits, month-end close, etc at the Plymouth Meeting campus.
You must live in Pennsylvania, Delaware, or New Jersey.
