OVERVIEW:
The Manager of University Relations will be responsible for developing and executing programming for DICK'S Sporting Goods Summer Internship programs. Through professional development and project work, the internship program is designed to meet the early talent needs of the DSG business. The Manager - University relations is responsible for building and managing the end-to-end internship program(s) including strategy development, recruiting, curriculum design, program execution, performance evaluation, and post-program conversion.
This will be a full time hybrid (Onsite Tuesday- Thursday, remote on Monday & Friday, ) role based out of our corporate office in Coraopolis, PA.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Recruiting for Internship & Development Programs
  • Develops and executes strategic vision and goals for University Relations team that meets the current and future talent needs of a dynamic, growing organization. Cultivates partnerships across the lines of business and provides consultation to ensure successful growth of the campus talent strategy for the company.
  • In partnership with the HRBPs, Learning & Development and Strategy teams, and Compensation determine annual recruitment needs, hiring targets, and compensation packages for interns and early talent programs.
  • Builds relationships with key faculty and academic leadership to create awareness of DICK'S Sporting Goods on strategic campuses. Identifies and promotes opportunities for on-campus partnerships. Is innovative in sourcing candidates and driving acceptance rates. Additional work around virtual recruiting and building DICK'S Sporting Goods employer brand nationally.
  • Monitors best practices in campus recruiting, benchmarks best practices inside and outside of the industry. Explores new approaches and technologies to attract, recruit and hire talent as well as managing current technologies and relationships with vendors

Managing Internship & Development Programs
  • Own all aspects of full-cycle recruiting process for the MBA Internship and Executive Development Programs, coordinating with Corporate Strategy Team, identifying and attending recruiting events and ensuring VIP treatment for candidates and program participants.
  • Develop strategy and programming for DSG Internship Program(s). Responsible for all intern activities, development, evaluations, and overall experience with the aim of converting interns into Full-time.
  • Prepare recruiting content/materials to be delivered on campus including but not limited to PowerPoint decks, flyers/brochures and additional marketing materials.

Leading and Developing a Team of Campus Recruiters
  • Develops the talent of University Relations recruiters and Program Manager by providing mentoring, coaching and development and leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5-7 years experience, including 5+ years of recruiting experience and 3+ years of leadership
  • Familiarity with NACE guidelines and reporting preferred
  • Previous experience with the following recruiting technologies offerings preferred: Workday, LinkedIn Recruiter, Handshake
  • In-depth knowledge of university recruiting best practices and principles, diversity recruiting techniques, and a general passion for University recruiting
  • Previous experience developing and executing best-in-class internship programs with populations spanning multiple lines of business
  • Experience creating and presenting materials to all levels of the organization
  • Complex decision-making, business acumen and maturity is required
  • Highly organized, with strong time management and prioritization skills. Ability to multi-task and ensure deadlines and deliverables are met by the University Relations Team
  • Ability to interact and develop networks in a professional manner with internal and external partners; ability to be a brand manager/ambassador; comfort presenting to and traveling with C-Suite executives
  • Ability to think/act strategically while maintaining an eye for talent, attention to detail and follow up. Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills, influencing, decision making and facilitation skills
  • Proven success in assessing and selecting talent for entry level roles; proven record of selecting talent with potential for next level positions
  • Proven ability to build and manage end-to-end internship programs, including strategy development, recruiting, curriculum design, program execution, performance evaluation, and post-program conversion.
  • Ability to interact and develop networks in a professional manner with internal and external partners; ability to be a brand manager/ambassador
  • Highly organized, with strong time management and prioritization skills. Ability to multi-task and self manage
  • Ability to think/act strategically while maintaining an eye for detail and follow up
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills, influencing, decision making and facilitation skills
